They're using Gemma as a beta test to sell severance to the public to skip bad experiences. Why do so many struggle realizing that. -We've already seen the severed birthing shack in the outside world. -The fact that each Severed Gemma remembered only the room she belonged to. -The questions they asked main-Gemma about remembering anything from the rooms. -And the rooms each being experiences ppl would rather skip: dentist, flying, gym, thank you cards. I felt like this episode was one of those "reveal dump" episodes that mystery box shows will occasionally have, but apparently not for everyone.

1. Gemma is herself when she is not in one of the testing rooms. 2. They are keeping her below the severed floor (Testing Floor). 3. It is very clear that there are as many severed versions of Gemma as there are rooms. It seems that most if not all rooms are full of negative experiences. They are checking if the severance barriers are working. 4. When she goes up and faces Milchik, it is clear she is another severed version that we know as Ms Casey. That was the only time we saw Ms Casey. The hair does not matter. Severance is spatially dictated. On the severed floor she is Ms Casey. 5 Dr. Mauer was in all rooms. 6. There is a clear implication that something very wrong will happen when she visits all the rooms. She is only missing Cold Harbor because Mark has not finished refining it. Cold Harbor may be something related to grief or death. 7. That wire shot? 100% real and amazing. This was the debut as a director of the main cinematographer of this show.
