I don't think the sub has anything to do with it. The context was very clear, that she was rejecting her imposed "duty" and instead live her life for herself with that flashback to Ymir. If taking on that duty, meant she can save humanity. Rejecting that duty would mean, she become humanity's enemy #1 for abandoning the chance to save humanity for her own selfish reason.

By your logic, opening themes are also meant to be watched. They skip it because of potential spoilers. Let them watch the show blind how they want to. That mid-credit scene was meant to hype you up for the 6-month wait in between parts.

It's actually a little heartbreaking to have to agree with this, but it's true. It was killer effective, but mostly because we had to wait many months for the pay-off. Probably the only way to watch it cold, now, is to watch it _only_ once and then forget about it, don't even discuss it. Maybe even only watch it separately. It's tough because it was a surprise, but folks have already mentioned it.

Honestly, her "humanity's enemy" thing is because Eren is like "kill me to save humanity, as it should have been" and her dad's also like "We have to save humanity by making them forget" so her reaction to that is to remember Ymir's words and (somewhat hyperbolically) say eff humanity, I'm going to do what I think is right and eating my friend and just doing the same thing Reisses have done for 100 years is just not it and I don't care if that makes me the direct opposite to everyone else asking me to just do stuff "for the sake of humanity". It's hard to get all that if you're watching one episode at a time, but kudos to you guys for paying attention and taking the words seriously, as you should.

The spinal fluid being needed to transfer titan powers answers last episode's question about why the titan that ate Eren didn't transform. This would be a very different show if the Santa Claus titan chewed his food properly.

I wouldn't take what Historia said about being humanity's enemy at a literal value. I think the spirit of it is more "if this is what it means to be right then I don't want it". It's a rejection of the status quo and not a declaration to kill all humans.

Yeah it definitely might somewhat be because of the subs, but we've also been told over and over that every sentence and word matters! It's hard for us to discern what's meant to be literal or not sometimes. We understand what Historia meant now thanks to some comments! 😊

I think it depends who's watching, some people are very intuitive or analytical of certain scenes. I personally didn't watch the scene just because I didn't know there was one, but as soon as Armin coughed I knew where the story was headed before it even got there.

It was originally placed there as a teaser because Part 2 of Season 3 wasn't coming out for 6 more months. It's kinda pointless to watch it now when they'll see that scene very shortly after. It'll make them constantly be like WHEN'S THAT GONNA HAPPEN.

I agree that it shouldn't be watched. I think it ruins the actual moment because not only are you constantly thinking about when it's gonna happen whilst watching, but then when it does happen, you aren't shocked because you've seen it.

Also we all did watch and we it didn't spoil anything for us , plus most reaction channels watch it and no one said that it ruined their experience it makes you speculate nothing more . Historia's outburst at the end was probably the result of being abused by her parents. She already went through it with her mom, and now her Dad came back into her life claiming to care about her. She must have always wanted that. She honestly thought she had her father back. Just to find out he was trying to use her as a tool and force her into eating her own friend. She probably doesn't really want to destroy humanity, but at this point she's seen how cruel humans like her parents can be, and doesn't know where else to direct her anger. You can't really blame her for blowing up like that

Y'all just learned some important info: a Titan has to specific bite through a Titan User's spine and consume the spinal fluid in order to gain that power. That's exactly why the Titan that ate Eren wayyyyy back in S1 ep5 didn't transform. It swallowed Eren whole without biting through his spine.

oh man so good. Just FYI there's an amazing trinity of episodes coming up, 3x16-17-18 are considered probably the best 3 episodes in the series and are directly connected so you may want to prepare for a triple feature haha
