The crazy bit is in the infamous 4kidz dub they skipped Laboon. So if they kept dubbing till Thriller Bark. Brook would've had to been friends with an iceberg.

This Laboon reveal is probably one of the most surprising things among OP fans. It took 7 years for the anime and 8 years for the original manga. The fact that Oda has kept this a secret for over 350 episodes is insane! Btw Demon Slayer has a TOTAL of 205 eps, and JJK has 271 eps...

Fun fact: Before the real dub that's still ongoing, the company that dubbed stuff like Pokemon and Yugioh, 4Kids, also dubbed One Piece. They had to censor a TON of stuff, including animal cruelty, meaning they had to censor everything with Laboon. How did they do this? Simple. They replaced Laboon with an iceberg, and when Luffy shot it with the cannon, it broke apart, and they moved on immediately

Also, me knowing the Laboon 4Kids censorship spoiled me on the reveal here, because in the video talking about 4Kids, they said it would be really confusing why Brook is so emotionally connected to an iceberg

Laboon ;___; I didn't mind the recap this time at all. And to be fair, this episode aired in the middle of 2008 and the Laboon episodes in early 2001. So it had been 7 years. Speaking of a long time, imagine being 49 year alone on that ship (+1 year floating around looking for your body) - Llike franky said, most would have given up (or gone insane). But Brook's promise to Laboon kept him going 😭

The Flashback was nice at the time. They met Laboon first in the episode aired March 14, 2001 in Japan und the Brooke reveal was aired May 11, 2008 so more than 7 Years between.

Laboon! Brook! I think Brook might be my favorite Straw Hat. I'm not ranking Luffy because I don't think I can rank him fairly. In fact, when ranking characters in One Piece I don't rank the Straw Hats because there are too many characters in One Piece, and I can't fairly rank the crew.
