Hello. May i suggest u switch every episode from sub to dub. Yes u had a poll but u also said this poll will not determine ur decision. So I thought u might give ur self a chance to hear it in dub and then make a final decision. Nevermind what the others want. Just give it a try u never know, u just might like it a bit more. Its just a suggestion 😉

No spoilers here but please not, folks, it's worth taking notes on concepts they introduce because they will be referred to often and are important to remember. Things like the equivalent exchange, Edward not needing the circle to do his alchemy (and why he thinks that is) are important to remember.

Yeah, as someone who watched the OG anime, a couple of moments (you know which ones, lol) really didn't hit as hard, because we took less time with the characters effected.

Girls, girls, girls! For this show, there is something I'd like to request! Like how you've been reading the SBS in One Piece from the manga: the manga of Fullmetal Alchemist has a bunch of so-called 4-koma* at the end of each volume. *a 4-koma is a short 4-panel story like comic-strips (think garfield for example), so basically a short story in 4 pictures. Most of them are humourous and some funny as heck/comedy gold. There are a few other joke pages thrown in. The author seems to have had a bunch of fun with it. If possible, and I think could help with this, could you read through those?

Good grief. There was all that discussion, and the poll (where the sub had 50% more votes), and H&K have also deliberated and made their own decision. You'd think that would put an end to it, yet here we are. Continuing to pester for the dub at this point is just rude. If it's such an excruciating ordeal to watch it in its actual original language, then just stop watching it.

Agreed. Rearranging the order of events and having a filler Episode 1 takes a lot of the punch out of several reveals in the early story. They end up revisiting a good chunk of this material in more depth later on anyways, so having this weirdly condensed exposition probably wastes more time than it saves.

Re: trauma - one thing I really like about this manga is how much grit every character has, however major or minor they are - and it's inner strength you can relate to even as a ordinary, non-super powered person, glad you're enjoying it so far

No spoilers, just clarification: Ed and Al's dad was/is also an alchemist, so he had lots of books on normal alchemy in the house. Ed and Al studied them on their own enough to do basic transmutation. When their mom died, they found their teacher and had her train them more to improve their skills. They didn't tell her that their goal was human transmutation. There also isn't a book on how to perform it just laying around. They figured it out on their own and performed the transmutation in secret.
