Pleaaaaase you guys don’t ever stop watching one piece, I’ll even pray for your safety if I have too, one piece has always been part of my life I know it may sound ridiculous in the eyes of people that don’t a watch anime but it has always help me grow, escape from family problem when I was little, from sadness and all other things and watching it with you guys is making me feel alive again. Love the SBS segment! Oda is pretty goody but yeah, he's clearly thought about stuff well in advance for his story and I start to sweat thinking about how much he's holding in his head and how he carefully he probably answers important questions to avoid giving out more info than we need at this point in the story Also yess, very cool that y'all remember the pussyfoot (lol) move so clearly and that it clearly was setting up something that exists in the universe, its just so far from the grand line that it looks super dangerous to normies out on the smaller islands

It'd be great if you could get into the cover stories as soon as possible, as a lot of them are nice backstories to characters in the main story :) If numbering Buggy's story as number 1, now you can safely read the cover stories 1-8, although 1 (Buggy's search for his body parts) and 2 (Diary of Coby and Helmeppo) have been animated. After Episode 325 you'll be safe to read cover story 9. While the cover story itself doesn't contain spoilers, it does have the manga's chapter title above the story panel, which contains spoilers. There is a reddit thread, which has linked the cover stories on imgur. As far as I could see they were in the right order and no spoilers in them - if you have an editor or someone you trust who alreay watched or read one piece, you could ask them to get the images for you :)

The SBS simply clarifies that while some Devil Fruits can be identified by their shape, others (like the Gomu Gomu no Mi), have a picture in the book, which gives a hint about their ability. This kind of information adds context but doesn’t spoil any future events or story developments.

If you think it would help, I could ask Haylo to mention when she begins covering the older SBS, since they are divided. She covers the SBS tied to the current arc first and then the older SBS.

I love that you guys are doing these. It's super fun. Now you need someone to go get the relevant manga cover stories that weren't adapted in the anime. There are some side plot things that manga readers would know about at this point that anime watchers wouldn't and some of them are really cool. The Eneru cover stories are a must!

Some SBS questions have for sure had an impact on the story as a whole. Sometimes people will ask something and Oda will go: "Oh I didn't think of that" or "Oh I didn't make that clear enough" and then he'll answer the question and then also address it within the story in the next arc or something like that. Other times people ask things that he doesn't really care about at that moment so he just makes some bullshit answer on the spot - and then he may end up addressing that in the story too, but he won't go back in the bullshit answer and will make sure it remains valid.

Oda knows the specifics of every mechanic in his world, but obviously saying more about them at the wrong time would be spoilers. The way everything is slowly revealed at the right time is why, for me, OP is perfect storytelling. It makes you want more and more. I binged from episode 1 to 700-ish (which at the time was fully caught up) in a few months. Any spare time I had was spent catching up. I have no regrets.

Oda has done a few videos to promote the live action and his voice doesn’t match his writing at all lol. He is (was?) a heavy smoker, so you get this deep, kind of intimidating voice, while he’s making jokes about being more sexy than a magazine model 😂😂😂
