In the English dub Izumi tells the boys when she hugs them, "It's okay to hurt" and while the sub line is still great the English alteration hits so much harder for me.

Izumi is really one of the best characters in the show. Just a good mentor, compassionate person, a tragic character. And Sig is great too.

It’s amazing that the big 3 breaks the stereotype: Naruto’s parents are both dead, ichigo’s dad is alive, and Luffy didn’t even know he got a dad lol, and who’s his mother is one of the greatest mystery in the show

tbh vanishing dads are the shounen-equivalent to the isekai-truck. fma, hxh, AoT, mutiple dads in one piece and so on xd
