Been watching one piece and waiting for episode after episode for 22 years next month xD I even felt I came late to the party back then xD When you watch a series for that long, it becomes a part of your life. ^^ It brings me so much joy seeing you enjoy this series :D I've known Bink's sake by heart since the day this episode came out, and still does. Singing it every time I hear it or remembers it, and always very loud when I've had something to drink xD Had it on every media, and still got it on my phone to this day. :D That song i definitely gonna play in my funeral someday together with Final Fantasy IX - Not Alone. :D ^^ Aaany ways. I've only ever known it as Bink's Brew, cause that's what they call it in the dub. Bink's Sake doesn't have the same ring to it. I prefer the dub cause you sing along better, but it'll make you cry either way

It's great to watch your reactions to One Piece. I like listening to you trying to guess what's going on in the episodes you're watching. It's a shame there's only one master Oda, because he could come in handy in a few series and movies with his ideas. Finally, it's time for my favorite arc, which answered my question that appeared in Water Seven (no spoilers). I'm glad I didn't have to wait long for an answer. I hope there won't be any more spoilers of what's going to happen. It's weird that people pay to watch your reactions and then ruin them themselves...

Just how hard is it to only discuss episodes they have seen.... a simple rule, really. Y'all are disappointing. Earlier this week they were complaining about the subtle, clever and genius hinters that kept spamming "nothing happened this arc" for approx 5 weeks, and today we get 10 comments spoiling and discussing the next arc. goodbye thriller bark! this arc has one of my favorite endings, everything about it is just perfect. but, as sad as i am that this chapter of the story has come to an end, i'm also excited for the next adventure! re-watching one piece with you has been so so much fun so far and i just can't wait for more.

Someof my favorite episodes! Glad you enjoyed them! Binks Sake is such a beautiful and life-affirming song! A small note: recently the one piece animation team has been releasing an edited/shortened version of Fishman Island. I suspect some will start reccomending you watch that version for pacing reasons, but I am actually going to recommend against that! Having watched a bit of this recut, it seems to make the assumption that the people watching it have already seen the original broadcast version and does cut out some notable context and tension building moments that i think you two will enjoy. Cheers!

11:15 Yeah.. to be honest, I was in his place, I don't know if I could have kept going for that long. It's really tragic as you said, and now I can't watch the whole scene from 15:02 without crying a little. Bink's Sake still makes me emotional 😭 in a sad but also happy way: Not that long after Episode 380 aired for the first time, that song was stuck in my head. So I hummed this song back when I worked in retail. To my surprise, a colleague joined in - I had no idea he knew it. We kept humming/whistling together even after we closed the shop, when suddenly another female colleague who just clocked out joined in. It was crazy, but really fun.

One Piece embodies a lot of things, but I think it's the "light at the end of the tunnel" philosophy that really shines in these episodes. Juxtaposing Brook's sad backstory with the happiness and fun of the present was just a killer move by Oda. Every time it briefly cuts to Luffy and everyone smiling and singing my heart tightens up. It's so powerful. Even when life is at its worst, things can still be good. You never know what the sunrise of tomorrow will bring, so stick with it.

and that's thriller bark! a great arc! i love all the mystery at the start of the arc and usopp nami and chopper are such a fun trio screaming there way through the island. the group fight against oars with all the combination attacks is one of the best fights. love the usopp perona fight with the return of sogeking. i like moria alot he's weird and creepy and that matches the arc. it only just now occurs to me that brook and moria both lost their crews and yet couldn't be more different. there's a great video "Oda Put More Into Thriller Bark Than I Realized | One Piece and Literature" by merphy napier (if your spoiler free you'll want to skip ten seconds in) but it does alot to explain the themes and characters of thriller bark and their likely inspiration and why absalom and hogback are such creeps!
