Everyone truly has beef with blackbeard by pure virtue of how scummy he and his methods are lol. You see it in this episode that everyone in the one piece world hates him, from luffy, jinbei, and even croco.

I just remembered when they talked about how scary Blackbeard's devil fruit is, that when Shanks spoke to Whitebeard about Blackbeard, he talked about how he got the scar on his eye from him, and that it wasn't a fluke because he had his guard up. Shanks, a Yonko with his guard up was "shaken" by Blackbeard. This was BEFORE he had the fruit. I'm pretty sure Blackbeard is scarier than he puts on, even without a devil fruit.

Fun possible trivia (?): Hannyabal’s appearance and role are similar to a character, Han’nya, from another series, Rurouni Kenshin, for which Oda was an assistant artist. They have very similar faces/masks, vertical patterns, and are both second in command. It could be just one way the two series referenced each other, including the Straw Har logo drawn on a bomb in RK. Another great series, though the creator of RK has rightfully fallen from grace.
