i just don’t think you get it. from a logical standpoint it was dumb, but imagine most of the world says that you shouldn’t have been born and that they would torture and kill you if they ever found out about you, pretty much treating your existence as a crime, then you meet someone who “saves” you from that reality, takes you in, and treats you as if your life is more valuable than gold then someone just spits all over that person’s name. it’s “dumb” logically but from an emotional standpoint, it makes sense. that’s what makes it so heavy and realistic because people do that in real life as well. no one thinks logically in situations like those and it’s easy to judge someone when you’re not trying to understand them.
