Thors realized you can't have your desert and eat it too for way too long.

Oh yeah this show is heavy. I'm eagerly looking forward to the next drop. And in case you guys didn't know Leif Erikson was a real person.

In case you skipped them I highly recommend listening to both the intro and outro.

This is my first time watching the show! Thank you for picking this up because I've been wanting to watch but too lazy to start. Watching with you girls really amped me. I'm enjoying the story so far! The atmosphere of the show really makes everything serious, solemn, and beautiful. "No one has any enemies" is such a simple yet deep concept, which I guess for the viking at that time it's such a weird and alien concept. Honestly I'm so scared of Thor dying, it feels like a setup for Thorfinn's tragic backtory T_T I hope not...

Thors is also the voice of Bond Forger in Spy Family (Kenichiro Matsuda), Lief Erikson is Eisen from Frieren (Yoji Ueda)

"You don't have any enemies." Thors, you're a beautiful man doing the best that he can. Floki, you suck

I hope I'm wrong about this but this village seems to be all relatively peaceful people. I'm sure they've defended their homes but having the warriors leave for battle seems to leave them defenseless.

Its been a while since I've seen this show and forgot how heavy it gets off the bat. Can't wait for the rest! Also this show has one of my favorite intros of an anime of all time, such a good song!

So for historical context: Danelaw was actually a pretty large section of England where English kings allowed the Danes to keep their own laws, not just some raiding camps but full on villages - it originated from conquest, naturally, but there was a period of peace between the Danes and the English, albeit with intermittent wars and skirmishing, from the late 800s to 900s. This story essentially starts in 1002 when King Ethelred II of Wessex ordered the massacre of Norsemen in England, leading to the events of this episode.
