1. I also feel bad for Olmar. No body wants to be humiliated like that and his fragile state was taken advantage of. 2. Ironically I enjoyed Thorgil in this episode even though he displayed the gnarliest killings ever. And yet Canute, the man seeking to stop all that scared me the most. Along with that, H had a point. He’d rather they not (I guess) but I think maybe Canute knows warriors will end up dying of their own accord whenever so when absolutely necessary sacrifices are made. We’ve seen Canute’s fear tactics, not to mention what he did to his kind brother. He’s willing to sacrifice his own beliefs at times for a greater cause which in a way is sad. The figure following him is a shadow he knows is not real but he’s seeing it and it’s the only thing oddly that’s keeping him from going insane. Like “I know it’s not real but I see it.” It’s the one thing that understands the burden of the crown.

The building of tension throughout this season is masterful, and each character is developed in such an interesting way that you can't take any of them for granted. Their motivations are so human. No-one is without fault and no-one is beyond redemption.
