It's so good how the interaction in the stables happened: Einar seemingly recognises his own struggle in Thorfinn with wanting to live like watching a mirror, despite experiencing strife on almost the opposite sides. It must be shocking to find out that someone who struggles like Thorfinn was on the other side.

"Thank you for waking me." I love all the layers behind this small phrase. He learned to say thank you from Einar earlier in the episode. And obviously Einar woke Thorfinn up in a literal, physical sense, but also seemingly in a spiritual and mental sense as well. I can't even imagine the adolescent Thorfinn of last season ever saying "thank you" or "I'm sorry" to anyone.

The ghosts of Thorfinn's past are there in his subconscious. He might not remember his dreams when he wakes up, but he's constantly tormented by them as he slips from consciousness.
