It's crazy how many people don't like the 2nd season of this show because it's not as action packed as the 1st season. The juxtaposition of the seasons is what makes this series so good.

A lot of this episode is anime only, but this is some of the best addition they've made! To dive in where Gardar is as he's dying, reliving his life and experiences, regrets and mistakes, it really makes you feel even more for him as he passes. Yeah, definitely in the top episodes of Vinland Saga, definitely not my favorite, and the pain is not about to stop just yet. TISSUES READY!!

I believe when Gardar found his son at the end was when he died and met his son who was waiting for him in heaven. So sad!

Miklagard is the Nordic name given to what would have been at the time Constantinople, now modern day Istanbul, Turkey when the Vikings reached there. The origin of Snake's blade is most likely from eastern world at the time of the Byzantine Empire, who coincidently hired and eventually integrated Viking warriors into the Byzantine Army known as the elite "Varangian Guard."

EMOTIONAL DAMAGE!!! 😒 This episode (hell, this storyline) is just one of the reasons that season 2 is better than season 1, which was already really good

it is slow, boring sometimes but not always. gotta give it props the direction and art is fantastic. But yeah it does feel like a 180, i was definitetly put off, still dont like this as much as season 1 but hoping next season is better.

A lot of viewers find this season to be slow or boring since it's a complete 180 from the first season by design, so I truly appreciate that you girls really get it.

Its sad that both Gardar and Thors had to experience war first before realising that there is never a good outcome going into it to begin with but that's what was the norm to them and how not going to war would've been seen as cowardness. What I also really loved about this episode when I first watched it was how Arnheid was able to keep her sadness and tears away as best as she could to bring comfort and peace with the little time Gardar had left. Season 2 is a masterpiece for a reason

I'm so upset that this made me cry 😭 I'm watching this for the first time with you guys and a few episodes got me close but this one actually broke me.

Here I am, Tuesday morning, WFH, tears streaming down my face as I get ready to push code to production. What a life

Okay, first thing first, let me get some tissues. I've seen it numerous times and the results are still the same. It is in my top3 episodes if not top1. I'm sure I will shed tears once again.
