Hero Me Gen7 Orientation - Assembly Part Two
🕑 Added 2022-11-12 09:36:03 +0000 UTCThis is a step by step assembly of a Hero Me Gen7 Direct Drive setup including ABL and ADXL345.. The video is 28minutes long and shows how to assemble the HMG7 platform so it is ready to mount to a 3D printer. Future videos will show mounting and and tuning for best performance.
Once you have watched this video, if you have not already, be sure to watch part one on Hero Me Gen7 STL Overview.

Going to build the dual 5015 setup for Ender 5 Plus with MSDD and will swap the BLT for EZABL.

There unfortunately seems to be two (or more) diameter sizes for the outer rings on the V6 collar. Last month I had a couple people complain that the mount was too tight for it to fit. Please take a calipered measurement (from a couple angles) of the diameter of your v6 hotend collar. Let me know the value and I will investigate this evening and get you an adjusted one.

Trying to use a e3d v6 and it keeps falling out of the mount for it, will the spacer fix this or is there a way I'm supposed to screw it into the mount?
Andrew Soderberg
I am sorry for the delayed response, I am catching up on several hundred requests. If you have not yet resolved this, please send me a picture showing the issue so that I can better understand and correct something if needed or provide you guidance on a setup change. Send it to me here: MediaMan3D@gmail.com

You should use the HMG7.2 Long Lightweight 5015 Left Brace and HMG7.2 Long Lightweight 5015 Right Brace its under cooling long Microswiss

What parts should I be using for the cooling ducts for a MSDD? (Ender 5 Pro, MSDD, MS all metal hotend, two 5015 cooling fans, CR touch)
Wayne Merritt
I have an Ender 3v2 which I have converted to a DD using the stock stepper motor and dual gear extruder and a Creality Spider 500 which is screw mounted. I printed the hotend mount for the Spider 500 and the direct drive for the Creality front mount. My problem is when trying to screw the DD mount down to the hotend mount the holes don't line up unless I slide it to the left far enough to where the DD mount is forcing the left parts cooling fan over dangerously close to breaking. The hole that the bowden tube goes through lines up perfectly but the DD mount is sitting too far left and is hitting the 5015 fan. Please help me figure out what I'm doing wrong.
Andrew Soderberg
The Micro Swiss All Metal is mounted the same as the stock Creality Ender 3 hotend. The mount to use is: HMG7 Creality OEM-CR10S-Ender3-5-MK8-MS Mount.stl the 'MS' in the filename is short for Micro Swiss. The Gen7 documentation has assembly diagrams for your setup (page 26-27 and after).

Thanks!

Hello, I have an original Ender 3 no direct drive, with a Micro Swiss all metal hot end what hot end mount do I need? and is there an assemble diagram for the Micro Swiss on Ender 3?
Hanz Farts
I just have to say, I admire your work on this project. The modularity and high performance of the product is amazing. Thank you for your hard work! I am looking forward to printing and installing mine!
Andrew Soderberg
The test fit worked for me. Try printing the mount having scaled the STL to 101% or 102% if it is very tight.

Is anyone using revo micro mount? I can't get it to work, too small. I can't get the heat sync to fit in the mount.
Andrew Soderberg
Bingo! You would have gotten extra points if you had also guessed the extruder. =)
Matt B
Aw, so close. Forgot the "orbiter" thing (I've never seen one before).
Matt B
Let's see... Based upon your personal preference for dual 5015 fans, that the Revo Six is an extremely common upgrade, and that it's not just Creality, I'm gonna bet you're building dual 5015 BLTouch with Revo Six. Now to see if I'm right :)
Darren Gerbrandt
Yeah for some reason I figured the Revo Micro skirt would be what I needed but it wasn't so have now printed the Revo 6 skirt, now I just need to put in all the threaded inserts.
Andrew Soderberg
The skirt is associated with the hotend. All the Revos have the same profile at the Heat block. So they use the same as the Revo Six.
Darren Gerbrandt
Almost exactly the build I needed, just got the Revo CR for my E3Pro and was previously using the HMG6 build. The one difference is that I have the Mini Sherpa, so I printed the plate for that and I wasn't sure on the skirt so I went with the Revo Micro but it looks like you went with the Revo 6, is that correct?
Andrew Soderberg
Yes. The MSDD Kits are the one exception. There are a separate set of part cooling ducts to reach back to where the nozzle is on the MSDD X carriage.
Wayne Michael Rogers
Does the Microswiss version retain the hotend heatsink mounting directly to the carriage rather than being a part of the HeroMe assembly?
Andrew Soderberg
Thanks for the feedback. I will process the videos to add captions.
Raymond Blum
Captions would do me wonders, I'm deaf so it's usually what helps me the most. Great video otherwise!

Very helpful presentation. Thank you!
