Brilliant! I'm in a bit of a bind. I got a new hotend, the old one doesnt really work, and I need a herome to mount the new one, and I cant print due to the old one being out of commission. Painted myself into a bit of a corner owning a ender neo max and buying a phaeton dragonfly.

You got it! Below is a DropBox link to new versions of the Endoscope mount. One Tall and one Short. These will place the bottom of the mount and scope 1mm-4mm above the nozzle tip for most standard hotends (depending on how far your feed the camera into the mount). The Tall version is sized to work with hotends equivalent to an E3D V6 Volcano or taller (like the Phaetus Rapido Plus). It seems that the endoscope mount options reach to close to the bed to be able to be used with an NF-Crazy/Mosquito/Magnum hotend. Is it possible we could get a mount that's more low profile?

The MGN12-H Front Gantry Adapter for the Gen7 is designed for M3 Flat Head Cap screws so they sit flush with the back of the Gantry Adapter. You can't use Hex or button head M3 screws for those mount points. There is no STEP file for that Gantry Adapter as it was created in TinkerCAD, and that does not support the export of complex shapes as a STEP file. If you are referring to the Hero Me Pro front mount for an MGN12-H linear rail, that is a licensed product and the STEP and STLs files are not available at this time.

Answer repeated here for those who don't see the nested answer to the same question... I am now focused on finishing the Hero Me Magnet version, which is and will remain a patron exclusive. The Hero Me Pro is a licensed product only. The Hero Me Pro files are not available at this time. I believe that the Magnet version will be as effective as the Hero Me Pro, yet much more convenient for maintenance and other access needs. The Magnet Edition (a patron exclusive) will have the hotend centered (left-right) on a MGN12-H X carriage, for example. Other X carriages with V-wheels will have the hotend slightly to the right of the center wheel to not hit the screw and nut of the bottom V-wheel.

I am now working on expanding the selection of Gantry Adapters and X carriage/Linear rail mounts for the Hero Me Magnet Edition that has no cost (other than the Patreon subscription).

i was not referring to the y axis offset. My comment was in reference to the x axis offset from the mgn12 carriage

Makes sense. I'm sure for a license product it's much cheaper to not have to buy some high power magnets. I'll wait for further refinement on your Gen7 magnetic version then if you are focused on finishing or further refining it. Thanks for the info!

The position of the hotend is the same in the Hero Me Pro as with the Gen7. The 9mm Y axis offset (the only compromise of the Hero Me ) is the same for both Gen7 and Pro. The Pro is redesigned to mount the Base to the Gantry Adapter from the front instead of the back. The Base is also wider inside to hold larger hotends. The Hotend mounts are lower profile with thicker ‘wings’. The part cooling ducts are refined to mount to the Base allowing the sides to have the same thickness given the larger interior.

So if we want the front mount (which could mount the hotend directly over the carriage instead of well off to the side), we have to buy it from a vendor? Or is there another way to move it closer to the carriage that I'm not aware of.

Will these pro files be available for us to print? I VERY much like the concept of having the base attach from the front. Seems much more serviceable. I considered the magnetic version but really don't mind the screw setup but it's just such a pain to remove the hotend currently. (Note that despite this minor gripe, I still very much enjoy and love this system and praise it any chance I get. Thanks for all the hard work you have put into this system!)

Hi! Andy, I recently bought some linear rails (MGN12-H) And I was wondering whether you would be willing to send me the step file for the MGN12-H front gantry adapter? As I have found that, when I screw the adapter to the rail block, the screws for the HMG7 base are protruding out the back and interfere with the adapter sitting flush against the rail block. Or am I doing something wrong? If so, could you update the docs to include some guide for mounting the HMG7 to the rail block? Or otherwise would it at least be nice to have a list of files which are needed for certain combinations of rail mounts. I have found that the HMG6 docs have some reference to which files are needed, but the HMG7 docs have none at all. Thanks!

Are patron members going to have access to the files so that we may build our own? The front mounted base seams like it would be an amazing upgrade over the current linear rail setup as it could bring the hotend back to the carriage instead of hanging off the side.

That's awesome! I was just thinking today about the possibility of selling this toolhead as a configuration since it has been my favorite bedslinger toolhead so far. I'll be at RMRRF as well!
