Thanks, I think that will work!

Andrew Soderberg

Sorry, bad copy/paste. Here is what I meant to respond with: Ok, depending on your ADXL345 and version of Beacon3D it may be a slim possibility to stack them out front. There is another way, add a spacer mount between the Hotend mount and the direct drive mount, I have just modified the 6mm spacer to have the same 14mm mount points as the Skirt. The Beacon3D is mounted to the Skirt mount and the ADXL345 gets mounted up in front above the heat sink fan. Here is a DropBox link to the STL and a rendered image of the mount adapters. https://www.dropbox.com/s/1qxl7clk5aaadww/Beacon3D-ADXL345.zip?dl=0

I meant as far as I can tell you can't stack the ADXL345 and Beacon3D...

Andrew Soderberg

I can make a vertical version.

I double checked, I really don't think you can stack these 2 sensors on the skirt with current mounts available.

Joncherba

any luck with your investigation into stacking these two devices?

Joncherba

Thanks, I appreciate it!

Andrew Soderberg

I will investigate this evening

Joncherba

I have the normal Beacon3D where the cable comes off the board at 90° to the board.

Joncherba

I don't see a way to stack the ADXL345 and Beacon3D sensors with current mount selections. Not that clears cabling.

Joncherba

I only saw a horizontal mount for the 14.4mm ADXL345 mount.

Joncherba

That sounds about right from what I measured from the STL's, it was just difficult due to how they came into my software. Thanks for the info!

Joncherba

What dimensions do you use for the threaded insert holes cause they are perfect.

Joncherba

I purchased the 100 count threaded inserts you suggest. They are too small to use to add threads to the fans mounting holes...currently I have a long bolt with a nut on the end. I doubt that will last too long with all the vibrations it will see.

Joncherba

Wow, I feel kinda dumb. I assumed that was the height it would be off the mount...ooops, I better get to printing the correct one. Lol. Thanks for the clarification.

Andrew Soderberg

Yes, add the threaded inserts into the fan’s own mount holes this way you can use very short screws. The ADXL mounts are named for the center to center distance of the teo mount holes on the PCB.

Joncherba

I think I have pretty much figured out the rest. I almost added threaded inserts to the fan mounts for the 5015 parts cooling ducts.

Joncherba

How do I know which mount to use for it?

Andrew Soderberg

That I believe is one of the first that I made a mount for. I believe there is both a horizontal and vertical version.

Joncherba

That is the ADXL345 that I purchased, not sure if you have a mount for it. I'm pretty sure I could make one work.

Depending on which ADXL345 you have, they can be ‘stacked’. First the Beacon3D and then the accelerometer. You will need longer screws.

can you mount the ADXL345 at the same time as the Beacon3D sensor? I'm looking to run both but it looks like thats not possible with the options I'm seeing. I'm currently printing the Beacon3D mounts in transparent blue PETG, this is going to look really neat. I'm excited for the Ender 3 V2 upgrades!
