Ultimate Immersion v1.7 update news [1.12.2/1.14]
🕑 Added 2020-07-31 13:04:52 +0000 UTCHey guys, hope you're having a great summer despite the current situation we're in. I've been thinking a lot what's going to be best for the future of this mod and since we're reaching the playable limit with highest x2048 resolution pack.
Just to give you an idea a single x2048 texture is 4 times bigger than x1024 and 16 times bigger than x512 so the rest of the resolutions are still far from the maximum cap.
As I mentioned before, ideally I'd like to move on with the latest possible mod version as soon as Forge and Optifine are fully out for 1.15 or 1.16 even but I also started thinking to change the platform from Forge to Fabric over time. This is still a big IF. We all have to see what the future of modding will bring as I'd like to follow the direction with a platform that offers most mods and is also compatible with servers. So for this it's still early to say for sure. Maybe I'll even support both Forge and Fabric if it's not too much extra work. I'm a single dev working on this project so my time is really limited if I still want to bring quality content out monthly.
So focusing on the next update I was thinking to add some pedestrian traffic lights including some signs to make roads more interesting.
I've been working on some marble textures as some of you asked for for a while now so this will also come with the next update.
But most importantly next update will be focused on cleaning up some redundant textures, making the resource pack a little lighter performance-wise and hopefully it opens a little more room for the updates.
I'd also like to show some screenshots from Hunger_Legend who started building a city map with my mod only and it looks absolutely breathtaking!

It's the vram limit while loading everything. Sadly due to Optifine bug I can't do anything at the moment. I did a lot of optimizations in v1.7 which I just released so I suggest you download that one. I still can't fully load x2048 myself yet but I prepared split packs for that matter. I'm waiting for Optifine to resolve my bug ticket. After that everything will be back to normal.
What is openGL error 1281[invalid value]? Is it because of my computer? Or can I solve it by downloading it from today's post? I have been suffering from this since yesterday...
