I was obsessed with this movie as a kid but hasn’t thought about it since. I also collected silver age Lois Lane and Jimmy Olsen comics so I was very excited to hear reference to Beppo and Crypto. Pets wearing capes is a good vibe

There is a great book called Superman vs Hollywood that chronicles the movies up until Man of Steel. It has a chapter about Supergirl where it reads that Reeve was supposed be in the movie and teaches Kara how to use her powers when she first arrives to earth. Allegedly there was this elaborate flying scene that was choreographed but Reeve dropped out at the last minute.
