I grew up in Tampa and the nearby Gibsonton carnie people were always well known. Grady Stiles Jr. was the cover picture of a silverchair record, he was a convicted murderer and his second wife hired a fellow carnie to kill him for 3 bills. I only know about the family because of his son who had a popular cable access show called lobster talk. I once had a plaster cast of his hand, an artist friend of a friend knew I would want it . It was a prized possesion. My ex accidentally broke it. That's it. LY all.

i literally came here to recommend this exact book. i blew through it in a weekend, it’s one of those. breezy. and one standalone chapter in the middle might be the scariest short story i’ve ever read.

Taking about books in amusement parks. I love FantasticLand by Mike Bockoven, it’s like a better Lord of the Flies and it’s super fucked up.

Amadeus is a good example of a movie where the director's cut is all killer and it doesn't feel a second longer.

Roger’s story of “Abracadabra” reminded me how much that guy sucked! I did props for a TV network located at Chelsea Piers from 2003-2012 and would have to go there all the time to get props or rent costumes. That guy would see me at least once a month and I would try to be nice to him and he would always be an “asshole”!

I thought I was in for a fun campy movie, but it was unsettling top to bottom. Every scene I'm like I don't like what is happening or what might happen. I think I need to watch some Killer Klowns from Outer Space as a fun carnival cleanser.
