Before starting this episode I just finished the audiobook of Dracul, a Dracula prequel written by one of Bram Stoker’s descendants (Dacre Stoker, great name). It’s an epistolary book like Dracula, but Bram is the main character and the thrust is that the Dracula story was based on true events that happened to Bram in his childhood. Pretty fun little book for Octooky. Weirdly there is all kinds of debate about Bram Stoker’s Dracula because of some translations he published in other countries called Powers of Darkness, allegedly the version that was published in English cut a ton of the sexuality in comparison and also the forward in wish Stoker claims it’s all a true story.

I'm with Gabrus on the Unsolved Mysteries episodes with UFOs and aliens. I remember one reenactment on there that had a Grey like, peering in from the back window. I had to pass the big window to the backyard in order to go to bed. We also lived in the boonies, so there were always weird noises in the woods. So of course I scared the shit out of myself a number of times (moth hitting the window = ass shitting pants) To this day , I still check that window out of the corner of my eye when I visit my folks...

The only Ken Russell movies I’ve seen are Lair of the White Worm, Tommy and Devils. Devils seems like PEAK Action Boyz to me. Oliver Reed plays a Catholic Cardinal who is also a fucboi that all the nuns are obsessed with.

Ken Russell acted in ‘The Russia House’, but that movie was directed by Fred Schepisi, a great filmmaker who seems overlooked these days. He’s best known for ‘Roxanne’, ‘Six Degrees of Separation’, and ‘A Cry in the Dark’, but I think his early Australian films ‘The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith’ and ‘The Devil’s Playground’ are masterpieces, and his Western ‘Barbarosa’—starring Willie Nelson and Gary Busey—would be a fun movie to hear covered on this show.

if you like worshippin' snake gods and getting caught in the rain if you like playing chutes and ladders in your hottest lingerie IF YOU LIKE EATING PICKLED EARTHWORMS at Lord D'Ampton's party then I'm the snake that you've looked for let me bite you in the dick So weird and horny and British. One of the best movies where Malcolm Tucker struts around in a kilt and plays the bagpipes at snake vampires ever. Also finally watched the uncut The Devils after, and that movie's the epitome of "they don't make them like that anymore". Even Verhoeven's nunsploitation movie that was clearly influenced by it felt tame in comparison.
