The bit that never dies; one might wonder if it made the show funnier? … Perhaps, if anything, just a bit more interesting (pun intended) as a character/bit/persona/caricature/camp/gag. The best “gifts” are those well suited for the next 2 or 3 in the circle; fun to see where the yes and goes, even at the expense of one’s self; after all, that really was the point all along. Although others would assuredly disagree, and their points would both be reasonable and valid. Never an excuse for taking things too far. We all make mistakes and I’ve certainly made more than my share. We are all only human; the best we can hope to do is learn and laugh about it, in whatever way life and those around us, allow. Hopefully though, for a long time to come.

The show that Stanger advised MacNicol to take over Numb3rs was called “Jack and Bobby”…and it was totally unhinged boomer nonsense. It was meant to be “what if Jack and Bobby were raised in the present day by a single mother” high school based show. It had this narration from the future “President” and I don’t think we were supposed to know which one it was. I also think it was established that one who was not the President died prematurely. I think there were multiple fake outs related to one of them dying in the one season. A bit fuzzy on those last details…but what a crazy idea. I guess he would have played the role that John Slattery played…

Re: Ben’s car story. We had two ragdoll cats that were siblings. Their constant shedding led us to give them lion cuts. As soon as they came home they immediately lost their shit and began attacking eachother. They were previously fully docile and absolute best friends but as soon as they got a look at one another all they could see was some shaved freak of nature intruder. We had to separate them for over a month until the fur grew back enough for them to recognize eachother. Crazy that cats can just turn on a dime like that. We thought that they would get over it but after two days of intermittent blood curdling screams and epic body slams sequestering was the only option.
