The conversation at the end was great about slowing down on smoking pot and doing things to improve health & increase testosterone. I was a super stoner for years before eliminating pot completely about 13 years ago. My general productivity in all aspects of life increased 10 fold. Got up earlier, ate healthier, far less complacent, exercised more, lots of outdoor activities, lost 60lbs, increased testosterone levels, balanced hormone levels, made a beautiful son with my now babymomma. Furthermore as those hormone levels balance out you’ll inevitably begin to become a conservative 💪🏼🇺🇸👍🏼

I'm struggling with my first viewing of this atrocity. The bit of business where Brando and the little fella are at their respective size-appropriate pianos made me do a spit take. Both actors are pretending to play so badly and so hard, it's hilarious. I'm hitting play again despite my better judgment.

I am a huge fan of Island of Lost Souls (1932), not only because Charles Laughton and Bela Lugosi are brilliant in it and the makeups are legitimately disturbing, but it has that secret sauce that makes 1930s movies so compelling: a complete disregard for the health and safety of everyone involved in the movie. Watching those extras running through fires in costumes made of animal hair and glue as Dr. Moreau's island burns to the ground is STRESSFUL.

Release the Stanger Tapes! (I just wanted to make this sound like a conspiracy theory) (Feel better, Stanger) Also- an unnecessary overshare- one of the cats we adopted in, I think, 2004, we named Brando. Because he was this incredibly tiny kitten, and- the man having just passed- it felt funny to name him for the larger than life, island-owning actor. He was one of those once in a lifetime pets. So listening to this throughout the day, it was nice to feel like I was hearing the Action Boyz talk about the beloved cat I used to have. (This post might not be sober)

Back when this came out, I was a huge fan of Mike Leigh’s Naked starring David Thewlis, so I was pretty disappointed in how bad this was. But he has turned out to have a great career. I recently watched him in season 3 of Fargo and thought he was great.
