In the UK as I listen to this and re: Rodgers’ point that we don’t make nice things anymore - the department stores in London from the late 19th century (still open!) like Selfridges and Harrods are basically castles. The inside of Liberty London looks like it was carved out of a sequoia. Compare these places, where people spent/spend money with care to buy excellent products that stood the test of time to your typical shitty TJ Maxx or Walmart. The bar is so low people prefer going to Target because it’s “nice.”

a waited the whole episode and it never came up. homer and eddie is possibly the worst conceived/best executed film of the 80s. it’s not good by any means, but it is watchable. me and my roommate got it when netflix was still renting dvds (this is like 2010). after watching it we broke the dvd in half.

Is this the place where we can order toilet colanders? Some other things I'd like to say: 1. Very funny ep! 2. RIP Arthur! 3. The first drive-in movie I ever saw was K9. My dad thought the scene where Jerry Lee catches the pool ball in his mouth and crushes it was very funny. Movie didn't make a huge impression on me. I was sat in the backseat of a 1990 Honda Accord Station wagon. 4. I spoke to Pruitt Taylor Vince on the phone once. I was trying to explain to him how to use Scenechronize to download his script. I was unsuccessful and ended up just emailing him the pages of the scenes from Heroes Reborn that he was in.

Trivia: The first draft of the script for K-19 The Widowmaker was originally a sequel to K-9 about Dooley and Jerry Lee (along with 18 other dogs) on a submarine to hunt drug cartel submarines. It was an envisioned as a grisly, realistic tale of submarine combat with an all dog crew. Once it was noted that there was a Soviet submarine of historical significance with the same designation the choice was made to pivot and do a partial rewrite of the script.
