I'd say give wrestling of the non-professional variety a watch. They've done a lot of work on rules to keep matches moving and punish stalling. That's not to say every match will look like Silver medalist Kennedy Blades ending a woman via German suplex, but they're pretty entertaining. Plus, check out all the cool folk styles of wrestling. There's Mongolian Bökh, Senegalese Dambe, Korean Ssireum, Irish collar and tie wrestling. Just to name a few. I'm getting into watching Sumo because it real easy to watch nowadays thanks to the internet.

There is a huge wrestling renaissance going on now, especially for girls. I’m not sure if it’s because of MMA or jiu-jitsu but the sport is way more popular now than it was in the 90s and 00s. It’s still not to where it was in the 70s and 80s but it’s coming back for sure.

This movie was fantastic. And not in an ironic way. Feels very much like a coming of age novel. I thought the dialogue was awesome and there are some truly funny edits. Yes Modine is at times problematically horny, but he’s also in high school… it happens. Also he’s so blindly optimistic in a way only a kid can be. Really no complaints, except the grandpa lives far enough away that you gotta camp overnight and it’s the weekend before the match and then the match is on Tuesday and you don’t bring him home with you and all the sudden grandpa’s at the match??? PLOT HOLE!
