For the NA beer ppl, try Three Magnets Self-Care. Its the best in north america hands-down. I live above the brewery too!

I quit drinking like three weeks before Covid hit the states and I'm SO lucky because I would have gone completely off the rails during lockdowns.
Brash Tracks
So precious, I'm sure. What's your cashapp? I'll reimburse you. But yeah, it's a Dark Tower thing.
David McElroy
That sounds really cool. Except calling him Sai King. I had to google if stephen's kid was named that! And my time is precious.
Brash Tracks
My buddies run The Loser Club Stephen King podcast for Bloody Disgusting. They've had Sai King on and have been going through the books in chronological order for like 4 or 5 years now. You guys seem to love King as much as I do so thought you'd enjoy it.
Chabnormal
Please put it back up. I meant to watch and just forgot.
bloodflart
wow you owned us
spiderdog
last drink was june 2018 too. thank god i was married when i got sober. i shudder to think of trying to do the dating scene early in sobriety.
Swin
Very easily. Not a liberal.

Next write about television road

But also don't ban all the psychos, because I love when they make fun of them
ageeogee
On Dark Tower: I really love the comics from the early 2000s. The art perfectly matches the tone of the books. Really good job of expanding the world while staying true to it.
ageeogee
Yea, I think the Fox News crows views politics as entertainment. They're basically just voting for who they want to see on their favorite TV show

My dad has stage 4 cancer and is undergoing chemo, so he and my mom switched to a vegan diet and non-alcoholic diet. They stay with me when they go to their infusions because I live closer to the city where their appointment is. And I’ll make vegan meals and have N.A. beer in the house, and I’ve found that there are some N.A. beers that are pretty good now. Corona and Peroni are our favorites. I also tried Tom Holland’s new company “Bero” , which is far too expensive and you have to order it shipped to your house, but other than that it is good too.

@rodgers grew up in Syracuse, never thought I’d enjoy hearing someone say “lake effect snow” Thanks for great episode and awesome content guys. Go Harris / Walz
Jonathan D Lackey
I've been to the Niagara casino, when it was the cheapest place to stay on the American side that didn't look like a real flophouse. It was...depressing.
PODCAST HOST GLAZER
I love you.

Straw poll: which movie is the least qualifying ‘action’ movie on paper, that the boyz could still cover? At the risk of being the cringey ‘which blah blah blah: I’ll go first’ guy, I nominate UNDER THE SKIN. Weird and arty af, a bummer, and zero action to speak of but I still think it would be a very fun ABZ conversation

You can live without a lot of your brain. This kid's baseball coach convinced his mom to take him to some doctors to figure out why he favored his left side so much. Turned out a stroke he had when he was a baby left him without a quarter of his brain, but he was pretty normal. https://source.washu.edu/2021/03/brain-rewires-itself-after-injury-on-the-edge-of-whats-compatible-with-life/

Ladies and gentlemen...Foo FIGHTERS.
Lewdgossiphumor
Um Dead Zone… I think.
away
The v/o in History of Violence ruins that movie so completely for me I don’t know how people ignore the split second between the lips and dialogue. Literally every scene Eastern Promises was the next year and I think also a dub? Basically perfect
Lewdgossiphumor
Um Dead Zone…probably.
Don Knott Steiner
You’re asking for Stanger to do an impression of John Leguizamo as Clown for two hours with this demand.
David McElroy
If I a movie has DB Sweeney, IT’S ON THE LIST!!!
Jason King
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-xz0z1gU1M No pants shitting, but this gets close.
Will See
Hell yeah
Dan Skisak
Also wild for me to see a movie where Christopher Walken's character has parents.
Dan Skisak
I enjoyed this movie, first watch. Especially since I've liked the South Park Episode "Cartmans Incredible Gift". It spoofs this movie and Silence of the Lambs. Cops think Cartman has a gift. They ask him what he sees and he says 'ice cream and oreos', so they arrest the ice cream shop owner.
Jeff Popp
Because they’re after the timeframe the show covers, I hope Rodgers puts A History of Violence and Eastern Promises on the calendar for a shadow wolves episode or zombie squad. Really good Cronenberg movies

2:21:55 “How come Rodgers never invites Stanger to movie nights.” 😡 😂

I don't understand the protected by the government part, or the foreign car example as they are probably Chinese components assembled in the US. but yes, cheaper (in all ways) goods for the American consumer can be the result of outsourcing labor to where workers can be more easily exploited and ecosystems more readily destroyed. then sent here in elaborate and fragile shipping networks. you might save money but there is a heavy cost being paid. insatiable western consumption is the first problem in this ecocidal chain. imo.
Michael Daniels
(H)all gave some. Some have (H)all.

I miss when the government protected me from cheaper and better foreign cars

The Dead Zone! Franco crushes it reading Dr Weizak, sounds a lot like his Tommy Weiseau
Bill Ahern
Exactly the premise Gabrus mentioned early in the pod
Korben's Mom
I had a professor recite the first couple pages of Beowulf in Old English. It was impressive (but also more than a bit hilarious). Hwaet!
John McClane
Hey Bones what book?
Don Knott Steiner
Hmmmm… With Rings of Power being a bit of a bust. I wonder if they might have cold feet. Another Carrie? I’d rather another go at Christine.
Brash Tracks
Took my family to Sleepy Hollow last week and did the guided tour. Basically the Headless Horseman was the town bully and murdered Crane for hitting on the girl he liked. Good times!
Devon Gravert
Not an -ism (perhaps autism) but Stanger being irrationally mad at Shudder for asking for his login info instantly made it into my top 5
Casey Wittner
Yes, though he’s supposedly doing Carrie first!
Kailey Mo
Hot buttered cheerios is essentially Chex mix without all the good stuff
David D.
Thank you for your service.

James Franco reads the audiobook and is (shockingly) excellent Not a fan- bitched about it and quit a couple of times out of annoyance. Once I got over not liking the dude, best reader I’ve heard
Kailey Mo
Thanks, Pizza

I know it’s easy to hyper focus on negative comments, but we’re all here because we love listening to funny and charming knuckleheads talking about stuff they’re passionate about. You boyz really have something special here ~ Happy to be a patron!

I def got dead zoned that time I fell 30 feet while playing lord of the rings in a house under construction.

I had a teacher perform from memory "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock".
Don Knott Steiner
Probably smells like asparagus spears, and blueberry smoothies.
Boogie
God these promos were so fun.

Gabrus telling that story about being lifeguard and meeting up with his future wife on the beach with her current beau, that was the first time I could see myself hating Gabrus, I was experiencing that moment from the bf's POV and yeah, I would despise him too. lol
eponymouse_ponymouse
It slipped by during the drinking conversation but Stanger's point about looking predatory if you don't drink is bang on. Half the sober guys I knew in university were fucking creeps, and the other half felt they had to be saints. When I cut back myself, I picked up some real weird vibes.
j f
I say more NAFTA talk. I have been saying for a long time that was the breaking point. In the late 90s right up to 9/11 we had unions marching arm in arm with environmentalists at anti globalization protests. There were tens of thousands in the streets who saw the writing on the wall of where the globalized and internet centered world were heading. Clinton and the neo liberals lost the unions and handed the disenfranchised working class to the right. Then 9/11 and the flag on lapel, us against them narrative could be sculpted into a spear by extremists who made fascist ideology mainstream. anyway, fun movie.
Korben's Mom
Neither here nor there, but I figured janitors may enjoy it. The great David Katznelson posted a phenomenal roundup of 1974 horror movies in this week's blog. Worth checking just for the posters: https://oakiedog.substack.com/p/1974-horror-blood-guts-and-chainsaws
Bill
I watched this recently and though Dodd was AJ from The Octagon. (Dodd and AJ are both in The Brood -1 out out of 15 found this interesting)
Sluderesque
My guess is he smells like apple cider vinegar

Weasel Boys, Rat Boys, I’m just here waiting for Possum Boys to have their time in the sun.
John McClane
Yes it was good!
John McClane
Do you guys think Stanger smells good?
Don Knott Steiner
Bent coaster tracks will fuck you up. The Hulk coaster would get me sick after two tries.

I had to stop going on big amusement park rides at age 18 when I went on the Millennium Force at Cedar Point and lost my sense of vision for a minute or so after the big drop. (Apparently this is a common occurrence but it terrified me.)
Don Knott Steiner
Dead Zone meets Monk was something I remembered when they were the USA tag team of cable detectives. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=ws-1iF8gUaY

On Gabrus mentioning King’s name being a selling point. I believe walking into a book, seeing a standee displaying his books, and the King name being spelled with the spooky looking ITC Benguiat font(Which was almost always bigger than the title) also helped in King’s notoriety. Especially during his 2nd wave in the 1990’s.
bloodflart
I thought new Salem's Lot was at least worth watching it had some fun stuff
SJ Masterton
Dude same, I became a dead zone after I fucked up my back trying to get a chips ahoy I dropped under the fridge
Andrew Lamberson
Teacher here. Theres a special place in my heart for the students who think all the teachers are married to each other
Adam Lewis
It's overplayed, overrated and over-referenced but I love Walken in the more cowbell sketch.
Adam Lewis
It was tough on everyone, especially the puppies, but they did the work and are in a good place now.
Adam Lewis
Damned right. ✊🏻

Elections are no less emotional and irrational than the colossal stadium concert tour of your choice. I keep telling myself that.
bloodflart
how can anyone vote for Trump just based on that one excerpt about Cary Grant? dude doesn't even speak English he talks all day and says nothing. "People are saying. Maybe. I don't know. Not really." I'm just sick of this dude being a part of my life every single day, all negativity all the time
bloodflart
Tall rights are humans rights
Gilligan(The marooned Ranchero)
I think a fairly true to the books Dark Tower tv series would be awesome. You'd have to Dodge a few studios for some bits and might want to give Detta Walker a rewrite or two. Lol
Jordan Cook
Can't believe they shouted out NOTL and the Gazebo. I wrote an article about it in a Toronto magazine*scroll to bottom): https://www.inthemoodmagazine.com/issue-9/film-diaries
Movie Donkey
Massachusetts has been ground zero for newer King content including both seasons of Castle Rock and Salem’s Lot. I liked season 2 of CR, Lizzy Caplan was good in that. Salem’s Lot was dog shit. My friends who were on that show describe all the cool stuff they shot and never used😞
Joe B
This hit close to home, last month I fell and hurt my leg tryna take a picture of an animal, so I obviously borrowed a cane and flipped my hair back and wore an ominous overcoat as I hobbled around town (I already have recurring nightmares about nuclear war)
Ashley
As someone who's too tall for her age and has been for her whole tall life, I feel very attacked these first 10 minutes. 😭 I just want to wash my tall hands in peace! But "super mutt" turned it around. Thank you, Boyz.
Data Janitor
flamin' hot buttered cheerios. billion dollar idea

when he tells the wildest story that even the other 2 haven't even heard

I'm digging Ben's Box office minute in the last two eps
Paul Perez
Last week was the funniest Stanger has ever been.
Elizabeth Warren Moon
I do enjoy that Rogers mentioned he wants to see pictures of other dogs on the rescue site and specifically mentioned that one of those dogs could have been his dog’s “step sibling Banjo.” As if Jane’s parents got married, had puppies and then divorced, and remarried.
Michael Daniels
I may be the only person on Earth to have watched all 6 seasons of The Dead Zone TV series on USA (Characters Welcome)
william o'connor
I just love the bald-faced lies. They get me every time.
Paul Perez
“Look! You don’t get it do ya…YOU’RE WASTING COFFEE!” I know this skit better than the movie.

I like when he says "I don't know, something to think about." Always makes me laugh

The Dead Zone? Is this a movie about my sex life 😎😏
Julian Neuweiler
The molestation vibes in this movie are off the charts
