New Full Video Editing Style?
🕑 Added 2023-02-10 21:34:16 +0000 UTCFirstly, I have to apologise for all of the posts here... I feel I am overwhelming you with way too much stuff and it's making me a little uncomfortable! I am really hoping that things settle down once I figure out how to navigate everything. I keep getting suggestions for how to improve the videos, which is awesome but at the same time it can get a bit confusing for you and for me to change things, so I really do need to just stick with one style.
This is a comparison video of the style that was in the last video to a style that shows more of me and less of the footage. It still needs to be blurred due to copyright. I received this suggestion today, and wanted to get your opinion before moving forward with more editing.
Please let me know which one of these styles you prefer! Personally, I prefer the circle as it looks nicer to me but I can make the circle bigger if you want.
A little note for future videos... I will be adding in the filmed intro and then put a timer countdown from 5 or 10 seconds. I will also leave in the little blurb right at the beginning as I wasn't sure if that was meant to be there. The outros and my thoughts will also be left in as you guys will be ahead here and you might want to hear what I thought of each episode.
I am aware that I am watching the HD version but this is what I currently have available on Disney Plus. I need to buy a DVD player for my laptop and also the Buffy DVDs which are the cropped version, but I don't know when this will happen and will most likely be through the first season before it all comes together! The lighting or crops don't bother me because I've not seen it before and I'm watching for the story and focused on that.

yay a vote for the circle 😄 I'll be keeping the circle in the YouTube videos but having it this different way for Patreon, so I get to still have my circle sometimes haha!

I kinda like the second way imo. But really it's all what your most comfortable with doing Juliette. Also don't apologize its wonderful that you care so much about your channel and everyone else in the community. Thanks so much for everything you do Juliette<3

I prefer the second style. Better view of your reaction. I will have the full video running in another window and only need a smaller show video for initial syncing or the occasional check that I am still synced

Yes, it depends on the filesystem, I guess. 75-80 GB for all seasons of Buffy of that wonderful good version.

I think both are fine. I also like the circle. The second one has the advantage of showing at bit "More Juliette" as you react. However, both are good and both serve the purpose. I think in the end you should go with the one that you prefer because it is part of "your brand" or how you present yourself to the verse. Remember, "They can't stop the signal!" Actually, while I appreciate you being so careful and wanting to please everyone, I think there is a point where you finally need to settle on a format and get down to the business of watching and reacting, because that's the fun part, and that's the part that is going to hopefully bring you more subscribers.

I'm sorry that I won't be much help here Juliette, but I'm not really fussed when it comes to which style you use. I would say just go with what you prefer to be honest. Regarding the version of Buffy that you're watching, if you are not averse to downloading the files using torrents, there are AI upscaled versions of the original 4:3 episodes available that are better quality than the dvds. If I remember correctly, it's about 75GB for all 7 seasons.

Personally I prefer second version since both you and the video are in their own space without anything being obscured. It's also the format that most other reactors go with. Now having said all that it probably matters less in the watch-along format since we'll also have our own copies running, so I'm not sure that its a huge deal one way or the other. I honestly thought about recommending this in my last comment also but I didn't want to overwhelm *you* with input ha ha. I'm sure whatever you settle on will be just fine.

Just reading subtext here. You mention "tied up" twice here, but of course I hope the opinions won't be tied. :) For me, personally, it's the "I'm watching a reaction" vs. the "I watch a TV episode" thing, and I prefer the second style for that. Also because I can put the episode itself nicely on top of that rectangle to watch both together on one big screen.
