I love Xander!! He makes me laugh and he LOVES his friends. He will do anything for them and yeah, he is super brave 💜 The only thing that I didn't like about him was in the first season and his relentless pursuit of Buffy as it was just awkward to watch. It's hard enough to reject someone, but when they don't get the message and keep persisting, it just makes it so uncomfortable. I get that he's a teenage boy and probably not all that clued up on dating and romance, but I am just so glad that phase seems to be gone now!

you know Xander gets a lot of hate from the buffy reaction community, and I get it there are aspects of his character that havn't exactly aged well especially in these early seasons. but damn if he isn't the bravest of all the scooby gang. the fact that he has no chance of even slowing angelus down, let alone stopping him but he will stand in his way regardless that's damn impressive

I really like this one. Not only is the monster-of-the-week genuinely creepy, it is also shows us something Buffy cannot fight: illness. And it shows that Buffy is the type of person who _needs_ something to fight. Many of the metaphors are rather explicitly explained. Der Kindestod is literally "child death". Giles mentions Buffy needing something to fight. Ryan says "you can't fight death." Giles also mentions children seeing our "true selves" - seeing through the facades people put up. It's all quite explicit but it doesn't feel patronising. We get some more insight into Xander as well. He stands up to Angel, knowing full well that he doesn't stand a chance. But for his friends, he does it. He already did in Innocence when he shoved the cross into Angel's face to protect Willow.

🥰🥰🥰 thank you. I've been trying to work a lot in order to have enough stuff for the channels and also here so I can have a little break. It's really hard as working on the channels keeps me busy and focused and out of trouble, but I also am a bit silly at times and do too much. I haven't yet found a balance that works for me, but when I work out the secret, I will let you know 😅💓
