Okay, so I just signed up to your Patreon. I need a copy of the episode to watch your reaction? I also didn't see any opportunity to sync it, if that's the case. The problem with BTVS is that there are literally multiple cuts and edits of episodes. It's hard to know what to actually sync. Maybe you tackled this in an earlier post, and I just missed it.

Oh right that's true. My point that she shows strength in that moment stands, but yeah Buffy kills him in the end.

Zerofk you need to rewatch. Lilly pushed Ken off that platform but it didn't kill him. When he was pinned down by the gate Buffy bashed his head in doing her impression of Ghandi

I was so impressed I actually remembered the title of the episode that Lilly was in as my memory usually is AWFUL 🤣 I think we will see her again, for sure. I don't think she will be a key feature, but definitely another episode with her in it. Maybe she will come back to Sunnydale? And then... most likely die 🥲

😸😸 I am so glad you are here for it, too!! It has definitely got a dark start and seems a lot deeper than what we've seen before. REALLY looking forward to where this season goes as I have no clue... One guess I will manage is to say that I think we might see more of Willow the Witch 😄 And I wonder if that is even a term that people say?!

This is my favourite season opener of the whole show. The contrast between the gang in Sunnydale and Buffy in LA is very poignant. Sunnydale is the place that's overrun by demons, and yet it feels much more light-hearted than the oppressive nature of LA - or at least Buffy's outlook on it. I also absolutely _love_ that they bring back this girl we've only seen once, in just a few second-long scenes. We even get hints of a backstory: the name changing, the silence when Buffy asks her real name. This girl has not had a good life. But, just like for Buffy, there is hope at the end of the episode. Both change their name again, and have an outlook for a difficult but hopeful future. "Gets easier. Takes practice." I love it. Then there's the fact that Lilly is the one to kill Ken, not Buffy. This is important because, although we focus on Buffy usually, Lilly is going to need a lot of strength going forward in life. And that gives us hope that she could find it, even if we will never see. And that's not even talking about the metaphor of hell being despair, Buffy generally being awesome despite her deep sadness, the inclusion of Oz and Cordelia, etc. It's just a great episode. "I'm Buffy, the Vampire Slayer. And you are?"

I agree with Sweet summit, season 3 is overall my favorite and it's senior year!! So much excitement and anxiety about what this season could bring, let's hope it's all rose blossoms and puppies and no more heartaches 💔💔

Here we go with season 3! As Bud said above the one take long shot of so many actors having to string their scenes together is definitely one of the best things the show does. But this entire season is my personal favourite of Buffy. Everyone has their favourite, but season 3 is my personal fave and I cannot wait for you to dive into it. And I'm so glad I get to be here for it.

The tracking shot at the school at the beginning of the episode is one of my favorite scenes of the series. A single take 3 minutes long, 9 actors 11 interactions, and dozens of extras. A single mistake and they have to do it all again, Then it cuts to Buffy, trying to eat spaghetti from the can and failing. A portrait of depression. At the end Buffy realizes she can't walk away from being the Slayer because that would mean turning her back on people in need. And that's not who she is.
