He’s an amazing actor which is why I love every second he’s on the screen. Some people don’t go for the personality he portrayed and I can understand it based on some of the previous classic doctors such as the 5th thru 7th (Eccleston is the 9th). However the episodes you’ve seen already give a lot of explanation about this particular doctor’s dark recent past that made him who he is, and if you stick with the series you’ll learn even more, a lot more, about those traumatic events over the course of several seasons. Knowing this doctor’s past makes his begging “please just give me a day like this” and his joyful shout “EVERYBODY LIVES” even more powerful. Sorry for gushing so much, but it’s Fantastic. :-)

I agree with you, Paul! Chris is wonderful. I don't understand why there are one or two people in the youtube comments that seem to really dislike him. I don't have ANY problem with him at all, he is amazing. For my first Doctor, I couldn't want anything more!

The next episode is "only" one-part, but after that there will be another two-part episode, which we are all eagerly waiting for!

Wonderful reaction Juliette. Thanks so much for letting us relive these episodes through your eyes. Chris Eccleston as always had nothing but an A game to bring and raised the level of everyone around him. And the script for these two was a total riot. I'm tempted to say this is my favorite episode, but there are so many others before and after this one that I have the same temptation for!

Thanks so much. You can see why this 2-parter is so loved. “EVERYBODY LIVES!!” Such a rare occurrence in DW, and the Doctor’s sheer joy at the end is truly infectious. The revelation that Nancy is indeed the mother is so moving, and I also love the scene between her and Rose, when Rose gives Nancy that bit of hope that the Germans don’t win, and this isn’t the end of the world. Thanks once again. This was a special treat getting both episodes in the one week, and I appreciate its not easy.
