I agree, Neil! Willow was being a bit weird here, but I put that down to the writing and not actually Willow. I think they tried too hard to go down a political road, when really, they've never really thought too much about being nice to demons or ghosts before this. I mean, what about the poor fish guy many moons ago? No one cared about him 🤣 Thank you, Neil 🥰💜

The way they have Spike tied up at the dinner table for thanksgiving always cracks me up. Season 4 has a string of banger episodes back to back to back. One of the best things about the show is the way it shows a slightly supernaturally skewed version of our own world. At the end of the day it was a standard holiday family get-together, with some bickering and political disagreements like any family. It's telling that Buffy's instinct is to go to Giles when she's needing a safe family dinner; his role as her real father figure and honestly a father to Willow and Xander as well is a wonderful part of the show.

I'm not a big fan of this episode - and from the comments above it looks like I'm not alone. But I have to say I do enjoy Giles's patriarch role. His interactions with Buffy - and to a lesser extent the rest of the gang - are always great. "I'm powerful, and I'm beautiful, and I don't need you to complete me!" You tell him, Harmony!

Still to this day, the hardest I've ever laughed at a Spike moment. "A BEAR! YOU MADE A BEAR! UNDO IT, UNDO IT!" Comedic gold right there.

I'm not a big fan of this episode, but I do love all the scenes with Spike. He makes it more enjoyable for me. I also love Anya's line, "To commemorate a past event, you kill and eat an animal. It's a ritual sacrifice... with pie." She's not wrong. 😂

I've got to admit, I really don't like Willow in this episode. People are dying, Xander has been struck down by syphilis (or whatever it actually is) and Willow is more concerned about issues completely out of their hands. Love Spike in this one. And yes, that look he gave at the end after Xander spilled the beans was perfect 😂 Can't wait to see your reaction to the corresponding Angel episode. It's a really good one!
