I really do hope we find out more. I always love it when this happens, when they feed us scraps and make us beg for more. We spend time wondering what the full story is and can come up with all these assumptions....
I am seeing sides to Wesley that I never knew existed and I honestly am growing to love him. He's brave, yet awkward. A very interesting fellow! AND he seems very loyal to Angel, which is a plus.
I'm uploading this episode on Boxing Day here in Australia. I had a VERY quiet Christmas, played a few games, bought myself the entire Devcats bundle on Steam (which means the Arcade Full of Cats DLC will hopefully be recorded this week HEHE) and took my new dermabrasion wand for a spin. My face feels nice and smooth now!
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas if you celebrate π I've so far kept up with the editing and on schedule for no breaks from uploading over the holidays, which I'm really pleased about. I adore the X Files, but taking a break from uploading over the holidays is, I think, what's made all the difference. I'm not stressed and I'm actually managing to keep up with everything! I think this has taught me to be a bit easier on myself and to not push myself to the limit. New Year's Resolution perhaps π₯°

I think maybe it's maternal or parental instinct! Most parents would do anything for their children, even putting themselves at risk. They'd take risks without thinking of the consequences as the need to protect and care for their child is so strong! Thank you, Kevin π

I really like that you're so understanding towards the boy's mother. A lot of other reactors have called her stupid and were extremely annoyed with her. You're very empathetic and generally see the good in people, instead of focussing on the bad. I think that's one of the reasons why you're my favourite Buffy and Angel reactor. :-)

Juliette: I love that you are coming to question your first impressions while watching Buffy and Angel. Almost all of the reactors I have watched eventually get to this point. But do not become complacent. The writers will continue to use the plot device of misdirection as they did with the father at the beginning of this episode and then the twist of revealing the son's true nature. But they will use it less as the shows mature. But it does not end completely and occasionally they will subvert the subversion with multiple twists... this episode being an example. It is one of many things that keeps both series fresh.

The twist really makes the episode and grounds it in reality in a way since there are people like that. The only part Iβm on then fence about is the mention of dead pets only because it does give away the plot...

This episode is awesome! Full of twists and character insight. I'm especially glad that we got to see Wesley be useful, even if he did stab himself with a cross. He must have a tough neck.

I don't usually do horror but I love this episode. Probably in my top five for the whole season. The advancing of stories of both Wesley and his father issues, and that of Angel and Cordelia still missing Doyle was great alongside a case of the week that was genuinely interesting with a twist nobody could have seen coming. After we got through the less than spectacular episode "She" it's nice to get such an awesome episode.

I love this episode. It's a nice nod to The Exorcist, and I love that twist at the end that the boy was actually soulless/evil all along and his behavior wasn't caused by the demon. I think that if Angel hadn't intervened, Ryan would have likely succeeded at killing his whole family. I think on some level they also realize that. So although they're probably devastated that their son will likely be locked up in an institution for a long time (if not his whole life), I think they know it's for the best.

Just make sure you don't overdo it with the dermabrasion wand, you might end up looking like Rose in The Idiot's Lantern! π It's still Christmas evening as I type this and like yourself I've had a very quiet day. Too much food was eaten, a movie was watched and couple of hours of VR were played. As you know I'm a huge cat lover so I'll be looking forward to more cat finding fun on the gaming channel soon.
