These reactions are honestly so great, it's like watching doctor who for the first time all over again! I love seeing you run through the emotional gambit, guessing at plot points and being immersed in the show. And also appreciating it for what it is, like you pick up on the positives even with lower rated episodes like 'love and monsters'. It's so refreshing to watch someone ready to simply enjoy something and not pick it apart.

I was so set to watch it and thought there was a glitch haha. Then I saw your comment on the other post and was so happy. Yes, Doctor Who is so much more than most people realize. Everyone thinks it's Sci-Fi but it's so much more. Oh I'm so looking forward to the laughs, the tears, and all the other emotions we still have to experience.

Wouldn't be the first time the Doctor looped back. Son-of-Mine couldn't affect it or vice versa, so no threat of paradox. Besides - this is DW. Rules are meant to be thrown into a black hole.

A nice idea but that would imply the Doctor sent him back in time and then there would be 2 of him during these 2 episodes. Unlikely he would do that. Also the scarecrow turned when they walked away and Son-of-mine was frozen in time so would not be able to do that.

There are certain moments of NuWho that I'm looking forward to seeing your reaction. This is one, The Fury of the Time Lord. Amongst my favourite episodes this stand very near the top for all the reasons you, and the others, have mentioned. Next week is another landmark moment for Who, introducing a new, and terrifying villain. Can't wait to see what you think. <3

I'm sorry about the mix up with the posts but I'm glad you were able to find and enjoy this one 💜 I'm SO happy that you enjoyed it as well! It was so beautifully done. Just perfect. I still sometimes find myself surprised with how emotional Doctor Who can be. For someone that thought it was a serious space drama, I really got it all wrong 🤣 I couldn't be happier. It's just been a wonderful adventure and I'm so, so pleased I gave it a chance 🥹

As everyone has commented, this is such an amazing story with every actor giving A++ performances. Easily a top tier episode, which demonstrates all the strengths of what this show can do, and drives me to tears every time I watch it...the end scene in particular. Thomas Sangster (Tim Latimer) has done a lot of film/TV work since, and he is excellent in the Queen's Gambit which also costars the actor that plays Dudley in the Harry Potter francise. Paul Cornell, who wrote this two parter, wrote a number of Dr Who books in the wilderness years (1989-2005) when the Classic era had been cancelled. These books were great for fans like me that missed the show. These episodes were based off of one of these books. He also wrote season 1's Father's Day.

Man! What a two parter. I'm with you this is my favourite episode too. Joan Redfern is the woman John was involved with. I was definitely crying with you in this episode and the whole dream sequence of John's life he would've had if he stayed human is soul crushing. David Tennant, Freema Agyeman & Jessica Hynes (Joan Redfern) acted so amazingly here and of course everyone else. Fun Fact: Did you know the actor who plays Jeremy Baines, is the great grandson of Charles Dickens?. Anyway, great reaction. I can't wait for next week. 😀❤️

This is such a strong, and amazing episode. The last 20 minutes really are quite brutal on the emotions though. Every time you think you're done crying, something else comes along. You have the boys thinking they are killing people (i cried), you have John Smith begging to stay human (I cried), you have John and Joan realizing the life they could have together (I cried), you have Joan confronting the Doctor then breaking down when he leaves (I cried), you have the two boys at war (I cried), then you have the boy as an old man crying when he see's the Doctor and Martha (yeah I couldn't even see the screen by this point). And lets not forget the other emotions, that has to be the darkest we've ever seen the Doctor to this point. No second chances for sure!
