What a wonderful episode this was 💜 It didn't go how I expected, but I have absolutely NO complaints 😅 I loved it.
I have now finished Buffy Season 3 in my re-watch! I might have to slow it down. I am only able to record one Buff episode per week, so I have about a year left to finish Buffy. I'll have to do the math and work out how many episodes per week I can re-watch without catching up TOO quickly! But I'm loving going back over the "old" episodes. It's AWESOME. I've been loving seeing Anya again from the beginning, too 🤣

This is an amazing episode. The message is one of acceptance, with a clear metaphor for running from one's family and finding a new one. The moment when they all stand up for Tara always gets me teary-eyed. Every single time. "We're family." Beyond that, there are so many tiny things that just feel _real_. For example Tara introducing only "Mr. Giles", and not Willow, to her father. Both because her father doesn't accept her sexuality, and because he doesn't care about the others: he only respects the older male in the group. Or like cousin Beth, who's still trapped, being on the father's side - even after learning the truth. Or like Tara reverting to a stuttering little girl when her father shows up. This is when the show is at its best in my eyes: tackling real-world and deeply human issues in a paranormal setting.

Ooh I've heard the name, but clearly no clue who she is haha. I think I'm probably a lot older than most other reactors and also I rarely watch TV or movies 🤣 I am... unique. That's for sure lol

How on earth did you not recognize Amy Adams? :-D Literally every other Buffy reactor I've seen has absolutely lost their minds when they saw her on Buffy. She's one of the most famous Hollywood actresses. (I'm obviously not judging, I'm just surprised.) And I absolutely loved your reaction, this is one of my top 10 favourite Buffy episodes. :-)
