Gray is beautiful!

I find there are generally two types of people who don't like season 6, and this is a huge generalisation and doesn't of course include everyone who doesn't like season 6. The first type are those who watched season 6 in their early teen years when it first aired, and who didn't come to appreciate the season until much later, when they understood the very adult themes it dealt with. The second group are those who watched Buffy years after it had first aired, when they were already used to seeing other TV shows deal with things like mental illness, trauma, and drug addiction, and to have Buffy suddenly heel turn pivot into a dark season feels a little shoehorned and cliched to them. I would hazard a rough guess that those of us who were already adults when this season first aired, and who maybe had also dealt with similar experiences to what the Scooby's are going through, probably found Buffy season 6 to be far more watchable. Add onto all of that the fact that pretty much up until Buffy decided to just devote almost an entire season (so far at least) towards exploring genuinely dark life themes in a much more realistic manner (magic induced hallucinations aside), the vast majority of 'very special episode' stuff from other shoes was laughable at best, and Season 6 of Buffy deserves far more credit than it sometimes gets (in my opinion.)

I'm sure whatever your depraved mind thought of there's someone, somewhere, who's written fanfiction about it. And if not maybe that could be your next project! 😂 As for your hair you could dye it but I have to say I love the strands of grey you have. Think of them as strands of wisdom. The older & greyer you become the wiser you'll be!

EXERCISING!!!! My goodness 🤣🤣🤣

Juliette Gaming

TRUE!! Maybe Spike's been faking it all along... PLOT TWIST! (Neil, I just had the most hideous, rude, thought about Spike and Buffy. I cannot ever speak of it. But I'm sure there's fan fiction written about it) One day I might cut it, Neil!! When I'm very old. Maybe. I am tempted to dye it (a brown) just to cover the grey, but I'm also tempted to just leave it and see what happens? Aren't all the cool kids wearing grey hair these days anyway?! Or maybe it's only cool when it's not natural 🤣

Neil Hanson

No Juliette not your beautiful hair! I forbid you from ever cutting it shorter! 🚫💇‍♀️ A very good episode with some very amusing scenes. The one where Xander walks in on Spike 'exercising' being my favourite. Although, when Spike got up and wrapped the sheet around himself surely there would have been a 'tenting' issue right? 😂 Loved the reaction as always. Thank you, and have yourself an awesome weekend!

LUCAS? lol oh that's great

Britney

My favorite part of this episode is when Xander walks in on Spike and Buffy. Your reaction was perfect and is also my reaction to that scene every time I watch. It just never stops being funny to me.

It's very interesting!! I have felt the urge to chop many times, but I do have long hair which does annoy me a fair bit. When I'm not recording, it's generally just in a bun on top of my head. I definitely can understand the feeling, but for me I think it comes from anxiety or feeling "off".

'Everything is so messed-up right now.' :)

I Think the need to cut your hair like that is a form of self harm due to self loathing. Personally I’ve never experienced that feeling, I never did it, but I have friends who’ve cut their hair when feeling deeply angry and sad and just hated themselves at that moment. The parallel with Britney is spot on…

It IS actually quite depressing, but I'm generally the kind of person that always hopes for the best. So I still have that hope inside me, the wishes that I want to see come true. I know some people in the comments think it's silly, but it's just me. I do try to keep a positive frame of mind, even when we've been hurt over and over with this show 🤣

Oliver

I hope your experience while watching the season isn't too depressing. I actually felt more of a cathartic compassion. (I'm not sure if those are the right words, I'm thinking of Aristotelian tragedy) And Buffy is not as dark as Angel so there might come lighter days for the protagonists as well. Some day? Maybe?
