Thanks, Jake! I probably should have given some more explanation around how she knew. In fact, I will probably go add a sentence there now. She would know he was only metal by the way he moved and when she touched him to place the blood debt. In my mind, it is harder to tell how far someone is above you (for instance she is Jade and being able to tell if someone is Diamond) vs someone below you. Since she was already metal (before transitioning into Jade) she would recognize that in Ruwen via observation and touch. Hope that made sense.

Just got caught up on all these chapters and I am loving what you've done so far. I was wondering when you have this line. “Yes. Echo knew I had only Fortified into the Metals when I met her during the Bamboo Viper trial." Unless I'm missing something Echo wouldn't have known his fortification level because in the Tournament fight with Echo she accused Ruwen of cheating, saying he is using magic to harden his body and in the Vault she says you can't use mana to cheat here and Ruwen uses his Centipede to try and fool her. Thanks for all the entertainment I've been reading and rereading these books for a while now!

Great points. I think the problem is I haven't been super clear on the motivation because Rami and Ruwen haven't gotten to talk since the Malth Library really. So this will get some attention in an upcoming chapter. Thank you for the feedback!

That is a valid point BaguaBrady. Xavier hasn't gotten as much attention as the others but he is going through a bit of a growth arc that will play out on the trip home. But you are right and I will pay attention to this dynamic.

I don’t think Rami gave him multiple personalities I think they were developing on there own and made sure to shape them so it would be useful instead of controlling or over bearing “Ruwen can’t come out right now he’s huddled in a corner in his mind we had to climb up two stairs on a ladder, I let him back out when it’s safe” could have been a possibility

I'm really enjoying the reunion! Though Rami's hand waving of Xavier's harassment is getting old fast, I hope that particular dynamic progresses soon and we see her stand up for her friend.
