No episodes of the past were based on actual campaigns rather than one-shots, and I have to be honest, the set up for this bit took a whole roleplaying day just because we had to ask all those essential questions like "how?"
Why is completely unnecessary. Because it's a funny idea, is why. A player suggested it, and of course we simply had to have a carnival episode before we moved on! I'm expecting, or at least hoping, for a fairly quick turn around on the next one. On the one hand, I'll have extra help babysitting because family is visiting, so I'll hopefully have time to record. On the other hand, the house will be fully of people and we've tripled the number of dogs in the house.
Regardless, I was originally planning to do both the set-up and the actual carnival episode all at once, until I realized the set-up was already longer than most episodes, so the plans for the next episode are already in place!

Usually if someone were to suggest something as big as a carnival I'd be like "Jesus Christ, does that mean we're going to organize this in great detail for the next couple of sessions before we get to try to catch Bingle again? Nope!", but if organizing and executing a carnival can be done in just a few hours of roleplay and if anything related to bureaucracy could be done by someone else, then I'd have fun e.g. creating the slides or finding animals and stuff (maybe some cute critters that are safe for kids to be around). I guess the bottom line is that I am still getting used to the idea of RPGs actually progressing quickly.

Ok the high stakes logistics of setting up a carnival in the context of an adventure series was genuinely so engaging and had me on the edge of my seat. Fantastic writing
