🕑 Added 2023-09-01 03:40:46 +0000 UTCI think the "shipping wars" are my favorite part of the Avatar fandom. Not to be a part of them, but just at how seriously some people at the time took a relationship between kids who, if we were being realistic, might break up before they turned twenty. However, full disclosure, I totally think Zuko and Katara had more chemistry. They were closer in age, and Zuko never had an episode where he horrifically dropped the ball with Katara, unless you count the time he betrayed Katara completely, making an absolute fool of her, and helped kill Aang - it's a setback to their relationship, I'll admit.
The real comedy to me, though, were the times Aang and Katara displayed not just a lack of chemistry, but the episodes where they were really not jiving. I might not remember correctly, but I feel like they did at least two or three versions of "NO," the episode.

Toph was into Sokka anyway! They all were! If you read the fanfics, even Katara was thinking about it, but on that note, it does feel like of all the characters, Sokka matured the most and became more of a man than Aang did by the end. He gets revealed to be quite clever and a good leader, while Aang never does move past being the little kid we met at the start of the show.

Thanks! I think it helps that it's not set to wrap up in less than ten episodes, so there's more time to really sit with the characters and to get into silly schemes.

I agree that if Zuko hadn't betrayed everyone he should've ended up with Katara, and that her and Aang weren't a good match (and bossy Toph would've been even worse). There was no need to add romance for any of the three there anyway. Also your episode was fun to listen to!

I just wanna say this is my favorite of not d&d's so far, and I LOVED the other ones. I wish this was a full animated show. Great writing.
