I spent the week getting Cevin’s Sword ready for publication. I posted it earlier to Patreon and I hope you enjoy it. This book originated from the time I had a literary agent and pursued Traditional Publishing. Even though it’s old, you can clearly see the themes I love are all there.
I plan on doing a much better job at highlighting Cevin’s Sword is an upper-middle-grade book than I did for The Grey Warden. TGW book launch was a disaster because many thought it was a Divine Apostasy book. When they discovered it wasn’t they were upset and let everyone know it.
Unfortunately for me, The Grey Warden is the book I have the strongest emotional attachment too. Ugh. That launch still makes me sad.
Will I someday come back and write more books in The Grey Warden and Cevin’s Sword series? I hope so. Right now I’m solely focused on Divine Apostasy and to be honest, I feel like we are just getting started there.
My plans are to finish this arc in the Divine Apostasy series in the next few books, and then start a new series in the same universe with the characters that survive (Mwahahahaha). What I’m saying is there is a lot of story yet to tell in the Divine Apostasy universe so it will be a while before I get back to these middle grade books.
Even knowing that fact I still decided to release these middle grade books because they deserve to be read. I worked extremely hard on them, and I love the characters. They deserve better than to sit on my hard drive.
I only have two chapters tonight because I forgot to send the other two to the editor and I spent all week working on Cevin’s Sword.
Now the Book 10 writing marathon starts.
I opened up Cevin’s Sword to all paying Patrons.
I opened up book 10 chapters 18, 19, and 20 for Root.
I opened up System of Ash chapter 22 for Root.
I opened up book 10 chapters 21, 22, and 23 for Harvester.
I added book 10 chapters 24 and 25 for Step Master, Blapy’s Favorite, Divine, and Axiom.

Thank you for supporting my writing. I made a decision after writing Cevin’s Sword that I would give Independent Publishing a try. Now here we are together. I’m so thankful for that.

Thanks for the feedback. I was worried that maybe I shouldn't release the book and thats why I wanted Patron feedback. Yes, middle grade means the MC is younger and will relate to middle grade age kids. The first three Harry Potter books are examples of this. Obviously adults like them too. haha.

Oh man, I flew through CS and an only just reading your update. I have such mixed emotions. I love that you are staying in the divine apostasy universe but am sad that I won’t get to read more of CS for a while. When you say middle grade, do you mean for middle school grades? It felt like when I first started reading Tamora Pierce. I fell in love with the characters and the intrigue was just intriguing enough without being too convoluted.

I really liked TGW!! I bought it. Cevins sword is dragging a little but I only got to chapter 20. Interesting enough to make me keep reading. I had to stop cuz its 2:43am and I need to read the DA update now before going to 😴. There are a few typos so far and I will highlight them when I go back and reread.

Still working through The Grey Warden and have been enjoying it. I know others have as well, so I too hope there is more to those series.
