They can eat whatever you put in front of them (preferably meat) but they don't need to eat as regularly as normal animals. Mainly they feed on fear, being demons and all.

Alli, just a thought. A,what do they eat? B,will the palace stablemaster be able to provide it? Of course if they are magical beasties?!? I'm not being critical in any way. For all I know you have the answers,and they just haven't appeared in story. I love your work,and world building. Just as someone who has had a passel of horses...... that aspect came to mind. On the other end of that question,are their leavings toxic waste?!?!
