The Water 7 arc is easily one of if not the best arc in the series, I'm not sure there's anyone that could seriously argue otherwise. Luffy's forced to come to terms with what it means to be captain, we see just how worried Usopp is about his lack of raw strength, and we can start to see how important Zoro's role as first mate is. Also, By this time, it's only been at most three months since the start of the show. Somebody kept track of how much time passed in the series using the moon cycles and a couple mentions of how long things took, but I don't rememeber exactly how long it was.

when I watched this for the first time I understood where usopp was coming from but I was just soo mad at him for making luffy cry (Luffy is my baby and fav character) so I was super harsh with him. The second time watching I could definitely understand it better, watching with foresight. Regardless of how goofy and chill luffy is, he’s still the captain and usopp, the entire fight, questioned his leadership and decisions. In other crews, something like that could never stand. This was definitely a learning moment for luffy especially, to take being the captain more seriously and be firm when he needs to be.
