Ten days are past us and it’s time to update you on what’s been cooking and what’s the current status for 0.11A, and some details about what’s planned next. Let’s go!
But first, as always, the art-preview (available in the next post). This time it’s the full-height art of the elf-maid which participates in one of the events from 0.11A. Looks quite delicious, and I’m not speaking only about the food on the tray that she’s holding ;)
Next, what’s been done during the past 10 days.
First half of the time has been dedicated to finishing and releasing the seasonal update that added a short but sweet St. Valentine’s Day themed event with the most popular girl in the whole school. This event was meant as an intermediate content addition before 0.11A releases, so that there’s something new for you to play with before the update comes out. We felt that even though the seasonal event was quite short, it was still better to release it and not miss the seasonal theme. We hope you’ve liked it, even if Hermione is not your cup of tea :)
Second half of the development time has been used on continuing the development of 0.11A. Among inserting new logic and new art for the events, we’ve also:
- Fixed several bugs that were reported recently, such as the one that sometimes made the elf-maid stay on the screen during some of the events in the Headmaster’s office, and the one that caused the package from Hagrid to not properly transition between the chapters during the second part of the Mandrake sidequest. The bug with Christmas quest (part 1) not working properly in Act 2 prologue has been fixed as well. Finally, we’ve fixed another batch of typos and grammar mistakes.
- Added a new mechanic that will make it possible to create menus with time-limited choices.
This will be used in several scenarios where time is of the essence and it’s crucial to make a choice. The goal here is to create a feeling of urgency and add more immersion to the events.
Apart from that we’re continuing to add the art and the logic for the rest of 0.11A. The art is almost finished, despite setting a hard deadline. It was not possible to achieve it since we needed new art for St. Valentine’s Day, which made the artists switch to new tasks. But the day of the release is very near and we’ll work hard to bring the new version of the game as soon as possible.
Now, let’s look a bit into the future. Last time we shared our plans about expanding the activities in the potions classroom, where Marcus will be able to watch over the students making mistakes, and consequently trying to save them from the danger they brought on themselves. As a result, Marcus will be able to receive a little bit of galleons, and of course, lewd rewards from the grateful students.
In the same context, we’ve also been looking into other parts of the game that can receive similar expansions. Recently we’ve looked into the part that is an essential part of HP lore - quidditch. We feel that since we’re making the game about HP universe, we can’t skip this aspect. At the moment the general idea is to start with some sort of management activities, such as supporting a quidditch team that represents your favorite faculty, and also managing a team of cheerleaders to, khm, boost the performance of the team’s participants, as well as to show the audience which team has the best cheerleaders.
All of this is being planned with the main goal in mind - we don’t want to make a very deep and complicated system, as it will not fit the game very well, but at the same time it needs to have enough depth and progression to be enjoyable for the players. Therefore, we will need to prototype and find a balance between simple and complex progression paths, and not go too deep to keep the whole thing manageable and implementable within a reasonable time span. We hope you will like the new additions when they are in place :)

Прошло десять дней, и настало время рассказать вам о том, что произошло за это время и каков текущий статус версии 0.11A, а также некоторые подробности о том, что планируется дальше. Поехали!
Но сначала, как всегда, арт-превью (доступно в следующем посте). На этот раз это арт эльфийки-служанки в полный рост, которая будет участвовать в одном из событий 0.11A. Выглядит очень аппетитно, и я говорю сейчас не только о еде на подносе, который она держит в руках ;)
Далее о том, что было сделано за последние 10 дней.
Первая половина времени была посвящена завершению и выпуску сезонного обновления, которое добавило короткое, но милое событие, посвященное Дню Святого Валентина, с самой популярной девушкой во всей школе. Это событие было задумано как промежуточная порция контента перед выходом 0.11A, чтобы могли насладиться чем-то новым в игре до выхода обновления. Мы посчитали, что даже если сезонное событие будет довольно коротким, все равно лучше выпустить его и не пропустить сезонную тему. Мы надеемся, что вам понравилось, даже если Гермиона - не ваша любимица :)
Вторая половина времени была использована для продолжения разработки 0.11A. Помимо вставки новой логики и нового арта для событий, мы также:
- Исправили несколько ошибок, о которых недавно сообщалось, например, ошибку, из-за которой эльфийка-служанка иногда оставалась на экране во время некоторых событий в кабинете директора, и ошибку, из-за которой посылка от Хагрида неправильно переходила между главами во время второй части второстепенного задания про мандрагору. Также исправлена ошибка, из-за которой рождественский квест (часть 1) не работал должным образом в прологе второго акта. Наконец, мы исправили еще одну порцию опечаток и грамматических ошибок.
- Добавлена новая механика, позволяющая создавать меню с ограниченным по времени выбором.
Это будет использовано в нескольких сценариях, где время играет решающую роль и необходимо сделать выбор. Цель состоит в том, чтобы создать ощущение срочности и добавить больше погружения в происходящее.
Кроме того, мы продолжаем добавлять арт и логику для остальной части 0.11A. Арт все ещё готов не до конца, не смотря на жесткие сроки. Уложиться в них не удалось, так как нам нужен был новый арт ко Дню Святого Валентина, что заставило художников переключиться на новые задачи. Но день релиза уже совсем близко, и мы приложим все усилия, чтобы выпустить новую версию игры как можно скорее.
А теперь давайте заглянем в будущее. В прошлый раз мы поделились своими планами по расширению активностей в классе зельеварения, где Маркус сможет наблюдать за учениками, совершающими ошибки, и, соответственно, пытаться спасти их от опасности, которую они сами на себя навлекли. В результате Маркус сможет получать немного галлеонов и, конечно же, сочные вознаграждения от благодарных учениц.
В этом же контексте мы рассматриваем и другие части игры, которые могут получить подобные расширения. Недавно мы обсуждали то, что является неотъемлемой частью ГП - квиддич. Мы считаем, что раз уж мы делаем игру по вселенной ГП, то не можем обойти вниманием этот аспект. На данный момент общая идея состоит в том, чтобы начать с механики менеджмента, например, поддерживать команду по квиддичу, которая представляет ваш любимый факультет, а также управлять командой болельщиц, чтобы, кхм, поднять характеристики участников команды, а также показать зрителям, у какой команды лучшие болельщицы.
Все это планируется с учетом главной цели - мы не хотим делать очень глубокую и сложную систему, так как она не очень хорошо впишется в игру, но в то же время она должна иметь достаточную глубину и прогрессию, чтобы быть интересной для игроков. Поэтому нам нужно будет создать прототип и найти баланс между простыми и сложными путями развития, но при этом не заходить слишком глубоко, чтобы все это было управляемо и реализуемо в разумные сроки. Мы надеемся, что вам понравятся новые дополнения, когда они появятся :)

I'd prefer seeing more Live 2D animations, more positions and chances to have intercourse with the students, waifu reciprocating the choice you made in choosing her. Actually having waifu in the story instead of taking her out (didn't see the point in this at all).

I'm starting to stop enjoying this game. My Waifu is missing, and instead of being able to find her, im stuck with only the mini games left.

Thanks for the feedback. We will add an option to turn the timed choices off in the preferences so you will be able to play the game as you do now.

The timed choice is a very, very, very bad idea. I play those game to take my time to read and to look at the art. I am a slow reader and I must likely wont have time to read the text before the time is up. I hate to feel urgency in the game I play.

I know some people will hate me for this, but I'm giving MY opinion here. The content wasn't for me as Hermione is a character that I absolutely no longer care about. In my top 3 are: Daphne, Ginny and Luna, who I find significantly more interesting than Hermione! 🥰 That's why I'm missing a few options here. For example, you would have preferred to play this event with a different character.
