Another 10 days have passed by, which means it’s time for another update on the development of your favorite Innocent Witches, as well as a quick recap of last month’s progress.
First up, a sneak peek at the art preview. This time, it’s the Slytherin common room (work in progress). Cozy yet slightly ominous, it perfectly captures the House’s signature vibe. The fireplace with a portrait above it takes center stage, surrounded by green furniture that highlights Slytherin’s iconic colors. Arched windows, intricate patterns, twisting vines, and decorative details add to the magical, mysterious atmosphere. Every corner of the room feels steeped in enchantment and house pride.
This is a part of the additions planned for each House, not just Slytherin. Hufflepuff already has a location for common rooms in the game, and Gryffindor, Slytherin and Ravenclaw are getting their own soon as well. This will allow for better immersion and possibility to make events more dynamic and tied less to the same locations.
Now onto the development news. Following the Halloween release at the end of October, we’ve been closely monitoring your feedback and released a fix update (fix1) to address various bugs and issues. Huge thanks to everyone who shared their thoughts and helped us improve the game even further!
In addition to seasonal updates, we’re hard at work on the next major update, 0.12A. The first half of the patch’s text content is nearly complete—about 160–170 pages of A4! We’ve also started preparing for the second half to stay on schedule and deliver a robust update. This patch isn’t just about adding new content; it also includes integrating parts of the old storyline into the new one. For example, collectible Polaroid photos will be re-introduced, which players can find in interactive areas like drawers or hidden corners of various locations. Tasks for the second part of the patch have already been assigned to our artists. Meanwhile, two of them have temporarily shifted their focus to creating art for the Christmas update, slated for release between December 24th and 31st.
Speaking of Polaroid photos, based on the feedback from the players, our animator is currently adding a "magical photo" effect to make the images move on them. As a pilot candidate we chose the photo of (Not)Daphne, which has already been animated and added to the game, and will be available in the next release (the result can be previewed here - https://pixeldrain.com/u/BE7fQuMw We’ve also refined the polaroid viewing mechanics, allowing you to choose between static or animated formats. Two more photos have been animated and integrated at this point of time, making it three in total, with the animations for the fourth one already in progress.
As for the Christmas update, the script and text are complete and undergoing final edits. Two artists are actively working on the event’s art to finish by mid-December. Players can look forward to a festive event featuring two new holiday outfits for the students, along with a small but sweet addition to one of the full-screen scenes.
As always, we’ve also addressed several important bugs. For instance, a problem that blocked summoning a character via the owl if their visit was already planned for another event has been fixed. Summoning characters via the owl in such situations now works as intended. We’ve also updated item tooltips in the inventory to align with the game’s overall style, among other fixes and adjustments, all of which will be present in the upcoming release.
Additionally, we’ve added a new feature allowing Sonya’s wardrobe elements, like glasses, makeup, and facial expressions, to be combined on the face layer, making it possible to further customize her looks. This lays the groundwork for similar mechanics for other characters in the future.
We haven’t forgotten the tasks from the backlog either. For example, Ginny quest’s stage involving guessing the diary’s password has been updated to be less clunky and more interactive. We’ve also fixed bugs related to auto-text scrolling in Elf-maids scene, getting Hagrid’s address in Act 1, and interactions with the Transgression Potion in early chapters of the game. Musical tracks have also been updated after mastering for the recently released OST and they now sound even better and more balanced thanks to that.

Прошло ещё 10 дней, а это значит, что пришло время поделиться новостями о разработке ваших любимых "Невинных Ведьм", а также кратко подытожить работу за предыдущий месяц.
Для начала - арт-превью. На этом арте изображена гостиная комната факультета Слизерин. Уютная и немного мрачная, она идеально передаёт атмосферу факультета. Центральное место занимает камин с портретом, окруженный зеленой мебелью, что подчеркивает фирменные цвета Слизерина. Арочные окна, витиеватые узоры, извивающиеся лианы и элементы декора создают ощущение уюта и таинственности. Каждый уголок комнаты пропитан атмосферой магии и принадлежности к факультету.
Это часть дополнений, запланированных для каждого факультета, а не только для Слизерина. У Пуффендуя уже есть локация для гостиной в игре, но Гриффиндор, Слизерин и Когтевран тоже скоро получат свои собственные. Это позволит лучше погрузиться в игру и сделать события более динамичными и менее привязанными к одним и тем же локациям.
А теперь, к непосредственно о деталях разработки игры. После Хэллоуинского релиза в конце октября мы активно следили за вашими отзывами и выпустили фикс-обновление (fix1), исправив различные баги и недочеты. Благодарим всех за вашу помощь и замечания, которые сделали игру ещё лучше.
Помимо сезонных обновлений мы также продолжаем работу над следующим крупным обновлением 0.12A. Практически завершена первая половина текстовой составляющей патча — это около 160–170 страниц А4. Мы также уже начали подготовку и работу над второй частью патча, чтобы успеть уложиться в сроки и порадовать вас большим обновлением. В задачи данного обновления входит не только создание нового контента, но и интеграция части старого сюжета в новый. Например, добавятся коллекционные полароидные фотографии, которые игроки смогут находить в интерактивных зонах, таких как ящики или скрытые уголки в локациях. Задачи для второй части патча уже распределены среди художников. В то же время двое из них на некоторый промежуток времени переключились на создание арта для сезонного обновления, которое выйдет на Рождество.
К слову о полароидных фотографиях. По просьбам игроков наш аниматор сейчас работает над добавлением эффекта «колдографии», делая изображения подвижными. Для теста была выбрана фотография (не)Дафны, которая уже добавлена в игру и будет включена в следующий релиз (результат можно посмотреть тут: https://pixeldrain.com/u/BE7fQuMw Дополнительно доработана механика просмотра — теперь вы сможете выбрать, какой формат фотографии хотите видеть: статичный или анимированный. Были также анимированы и интегрированы ещё две фотографии. Наконец, следующая фотография уже находится в работе у аниматора.
Что касается сезонного обновления, сценарий и тексты уже завершены и находятся на редактуре. Над артами для события активно работают два художника, чтобы завершить работу в первой половине декабря. Релиз запланирован на период с 24 по 31 декабря. Игроков ждет забавное событие, в котором можно будет увидеть два новых новогодних костюма для студенток, а также небольшое, но сладкое дополнение для одной из полноэкранных сцен.
Мы также исправили несколько важных багов. Например, устранена проблема, из-за которой вызов персонажа через сову блокировался, если его визит уже был запланирован в рамках другого события. Теперь вызов в таких случаях будет работать корректно. Дополнительно обновлены всплывающие подсказки для предметов в инвентаре — они теперь соответствуют общему стилю игры. Все это, а также исправления других багов, будет включено в следующий релиз.
Далее, мы добавили возможность комбинировать элементы из гардероба Сони на слое лица, такие как очки, макияж и выражение лица. Это послужит хорошей основой для дальнейшего внедрения похожей механики для других персонажей игры.
Не были забыты и задачи из бэклога. Например, сцена квеста Джинни, связанная с отгадыванием пароля к дневнику, была обновлена и стала менее громоздкой и более интерактивной. Мы также исправили ошибки, связанные с автопрокруткой текста в сцене с эльфийкой-служанкой, получением адреса Хагрида в первом акте и взаимодействием с зельем трансгрессии в ранних главах игры. Музыкальные треки также были обновлены после мастеринга для недавно выпущенного OST, благодаря чему они теперь звучат более сбалансированно и качественно.

These events are nice but I would rather just have more game updates. I would rather drop the seasonal events as well and just have more for the actual game please. I understand I am probably in the minority here but that is my tuppence.

I'm torn about repeating this event. Last year, unfortunately, it was very clear that there were probably a lot of bot votes. Daphne was ahead of Hermione by a very large margin (almost 200 votes) throughout the entire voting period. This picture didn't change much until shortly before the end. There were also no significant increases in votes for either opponent. But then the picture changed completely. Within a few minutes, a surprising number of votes came in for Hermione, so that she ended up winning with 110 more votes. So an increase of 300 votes (15% of all) shortly before the end. It was similar in the fight between Hermione and Ginny. Ginny was ahead for a long time there too. Until things changed shortly before the end. In the semi-final Daphne vs. Luna, Daphne also won with just one more vote! Daphne: 1,987 votes Luna: 1,986 votes So it would be fair for all girls if there was another event. But only if bot votes can be excluded! If this is again destroyed by bot votes, this could lead to dissatisfaction. Likewise, fans of certain characters may feel left out when their favorite is eliminated. "Now XYZ has won and my favorite has lost dismally. What am I doing wrong?" On the other hand, I ask myself what it is supposed to achieve... What added value does it bring to the game?

What are you talking about? The content goes to the least favorite characters. Have you seen any Hermione sexscene? Prepare for more elf to come. And I'm saying this as a random paying member not some random internet freeloader.

I didn't see the previous Miss Hogwarts event, so I'd say it's tough to answer this. What does it entail for us? Lots of views of the various girls in a variety of skimpy outfits (including Ginny, Hannah, Parvati, etc)? Sounds good. Though, as I tend to often mention in these surveys, only if it doesn't take away too much of your time / effort from continuing the actual game story. We seem to be so close to finally catching the new story up to the levels of intimacy that were in the old story, and when I hear ideas about new content that doesn't contribute to that, no matter how good that other stuff might sound, it also makes me leery of inviting too many distractions.

My friend she has a hard unpopular road to hoe. We need more content for unpopular characters. I would love to see an update where they put in something spicy for each girl inverted from their popularity. Less content you have overall the more you get in that update.
