January has come to an end, which means it's time to share the latest updates on the development of Innocent Witches.
While most of the team was on vacation for the first 10 days (or trying to recover from the holidays), the overall development never stopped. Some team members continued working on backlog tasks, focusing on improving gameplay and reintegrating content from the old storyline. At the same time, various fixes and improvements were implemented to further polish the game.
The past ten days have been dedicated to integrating content for the next patch. The second chapter of Act II is now about one-third complete, and the process is picking up speed. Along the way, we are making small adjustments—refining existing artwork and adding details that naturally fit into specific scenes.
As for the third chapter of Act II, which will make up the second half of patch 0.12A, work on the text is nearly finished. The deadline for the scenario and the texts is set for February 9. By this time, the prototype of the second chapter should already be complete, so the integration process should not slow down or be delayed due to unfinished text or artwork for the third chapter.
Meanwhile, planning for patch 0.12B is also underway. This update will introduce secondary content, including further character relationship development, an updated main menu background featuring Hermione, new and improved polaroid photos, and other exciting additions.
Additionally, our Live2D animator has begun working on the updated main menu background featuring Hermione. The format will be similar to the existing one with Luna, which, based on player feedback, has been highly praised (and we completely agree!).
We will also continue optimizing the gameplay by refining or removing mechanics that disrupt immersion, or which just become a nuisance instead of something interesting to do.
We understand that delays can be frustrating, but development continues daily, bringing the release ever closer. Thank you for your patience and support—we can’t wait for you to experience the second and third chapters of Act II!

Январь подошёл к концу, а это значит, что пришло время поделиться с вами новостями о разработке “Невинных ведьм”.
Хотя большая часть команды была в отпуске первые 10 дней (или пыталась прийти в себя после праздников), работа над игрой не останавливалась. Часть команды продолжала выполнять задачи из бэклога, сосредоточившись на улучшении игрового процесса и реинтеграции контента из старого сюжета. Параллельно в игру были внесены различные исправления и улучшения, направленные на полировку геймплея.
Последние десять дней были посвящены интеграции контента для следующего патча. Вторая глава второго акта уже вставлена примерно на треть, и работа идёт всё быстрее. В процессе возникают небольшие нюансы — доработка существующего арта и добавление деталей, которые логично вписываются в конкретные сцены.
Что касается третьей главы второго акта, которая станет второй половиной патча 0.12A, сейчас завершается работа над текстами. Дедлайн для сценария и текстов установлен на 9 февраля. К этому моменту прототип второй главы уже должен быть готов, поэтому вставка контента не должна замедлиться или остановиться из-за неготовности текста или арта для третьей главы.
Параллельно ведётся работа над планированием патча 0.12B. В нём появится второстепенный контент: развитие отношений с персонажами, обновлённый фон главного меню с Гермионой, новые и улучшенные колдографии, а также другие нововведения.
Также наш Live2D-аниматор приступил к работе над обновлённой версией фона для главного меню с Гермионой. Формат меню планируется сделать похожим на текущую версию с Полумной, которая, судя по отзывам игроков, получила высокую оценку (с чем мы полностью согласны).
Кроме того, мы продолжаем оптимизацию игрового процесса, улучшая или избавляясь от механик, которые мешают погружению и становятся слишком навязчивыми.
Мы понимаем, что задержки раздражают, но работа продолжается ежедневно, приближая релиз. Спасибо за ваше терпение и поддержку — с нетерпением ждём, когда вы сможете поиграть во вторую и третью главы второго акта!

В Невинных Ведьмах задания постоянно открываются и выполняются в ходе прохождения, а их отслеживание осуществляется через журнал. Он помогает не потеряться в процессе и содержит подсказки для выполнения следующего этапа.
Мы хотим узнать, как вы предпочитаете проходить игру. Допустим, после диалога с персонажем, в котором упоминается следующий шаг по сюжету, на экране появляется уведомление о том, что информация в журнале обновлена. Что вы делаете в этот момент? Действуете сразу, следуя информации из диалога, или сначала открываете журнал, чтобы уточнить детали?
Эта информация поможет нам принять решение о возможном улучшении игрового процесса, связанного с оповещением о выполнении заданий.

Finally, the traditional poll!
In Innocent Witches, quests constantly unlock and progress as you play, and the quest journal helps track them. It ensures you don’t lose your way and occasionally provides hints for the next steps.
We’d like to know how you prefer to play the game. Suppose you finish a dialogue with a character where the next step is mentioned or hinted at, and a notification appears saying that the quest journal has been updated. What do you do at that moment? Do you follow the hint from the dialogue immediately to do the next step in the quest, or do you check the quest journal for details first?
This information will help us decide on a potential improvement to how the quest progression announcements behave.

Thx for your feedback! The idea we were thinking about was to add an option to display the quest journal when a step in the quest is completed, instead of just a notification. For example, when a step in the quest is completed, then the journal displays for a short period of time, with the completed step being crossed out and the new step appearing via a short animation. This is supposed to be an optional thing that can be toggled in the preferences.

With more than 1 language in play, the room for misunderstanding is large. Also personally I have large gaps between when I play and I forget some things so the log makes everything easier on me.

please don't remove the quest log. its very usefull for when you return to the game after a couple of days or miss the hints in the dialog or just to check you didnt miss anything. the notification isnt that important and could be removed in my opinion.
