Was this episode filler? I have never checked if it's in the manga, and sometimes the single episodes of straw hats between arcs are filler. Regardless this episode was beautiful and perfectly placed within the story, I almost cried as Brook played Binks' Sake while the pod of Whales ascended.

"The good arcs" bruh 😭. Do people really feel this way?? You sat through 574 episodes of arcs you didn't think were good? Maybe you meant the good arcs that are post-timeskip? I hope? Gonna be honest with you, old One Piece anime was far better imo due to better pacing and better writing in general. Far more iconic and emotional moments too involving the crew. All of my favorite arcs like Water 7, Marineford, Alabasta, and Arlong Park are pre-timeskip. Dressrosa and Wano are my favorites post-timeskip, but large sections of them are partially ruined by the anime pacing. Rewatching them is hard, I have to skip entire sections that were made far longer than the manga if I want to not get bored. I think One Piece's glory days were pre-timeskip, it's surprising to see people say this. Not to say that I don't love post-timeskip, I love all of One Piece. I just think it's clearly inferior if you compare them directly. I am excited for Punk Hazard reactions though, I love this arc even if it's not one of my faves and the pacing is still decent unlike later on.

I think Punk Hazard is fine... It's really just Dressrosa onwards pacing that can sometimes be agonizing. I think the fact that he won't have to wait each week will make it more bearable for Jack (and us). Nothing to do about it though, the show is still fantastic despite that and the most important scenes maintain normal manga pacing for the most part. My only suggestion is for the occasional parts that are excessively slow and add tons of non-manga panning shots, I will prob ramp up Jack and the episode to 1.5 speed then turn it back to normal speed when pacing is normal again. You can speed up patreon player with right click options. That helps significantly in my experience, and I still get to enjoy his whole reaction.

Also, extra Note: the filler arc following is a tie-in for the Movie Z. So if you plan on watching the film it wouldn't hurt to watch it.
