They forgot that had LCAR's operating system where every computer console can be quickly reformatted by a few swipes of the hand to be able to perform any ship function. But, on a cinematography point they needed to add more movements as it was a relatively static script in terms of 'action'

I always thought it was bad design to have the decompression button on the console, and the REcompression button ALLLL the way across the room. Bad ship designers! Bad! :)

Easy S-tier. Captain Troi saves the ship, Dr. Worf delivers a baby, Data gets his head pulled off, Picard conscripts child soldiers. If that was the TV Guide episode synopsis, you'd be like "holy crap, I gotta watch this episode."
