Yeah, it's just easiest to just call him 'The Brig'. :)

So, roughly in order: Yes, I totally think checking how many seasons a Doctor is in is 100% kosher in my book because it's not like any of that was ever a surprise to any of us watching these episodes as they came out; I literally spent a year watching Tennant episodes after he announced he was leaving, and knew what was up with Matt Smith very shortly after Moffat did himself. Also, yes, the "Are you fucking kidding me" is the only appropriate response to that ending. It was a huge asspull that I'm still not okay with, one Adulthood later.
John
Paula at 2:00, "It's like looking to see how many pages are left in the book but you don't read the last page because that would ruin it." Nope, don't even look at how many pages are left.

But she was in prison before she was born. We know it for a fact because she got her vortex manipulator from Dorium, who died when she was born. consideting her biography was known to the teselecta crew, this means that the authorities already knew the Silence were going to kidnap baby River and didn't do anything to stop it.
Brandon Scott
There’s a nonspoiler answer. River was still pretty young when they kidnapped her (which was the only time they kidnapped her aside from right when she was born). They took her from 3000 some odd years in the future, sent her back to kill the doctor, after which she was taken back and plopped right where she was taken from. She was then, sometime soon after, one assumes, arrested for the crime she had committed thousands of years earlier. She was NOT in prison for killing the doctor before she killed him. She just wasn’t.

She said, “having to pretend to not recognize the spacesuit IN FLORIDA,’ which happened after Utah (after), but she didn’t say Utah.... but she meant the one they saw in Florida AND Utah but she just didn’t say that, she just said Florida because, well, it was “on the same adventure”? ...ok, sure.
Steven morgan
But it all hapened on the same adventure, the Florida part was when they met the girl and got hold of a space suit, she knew she was firing at her self in Utah that’s why she missed, she is a crack shot

Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart Also, Paula had better not look ahead 😠

Ooh good luck with that it’s ten episodes and most of them are missing I’ve always wanted to watch it but have been put off, I’ve watched a few of the telesales ones , some are good some aren’t
John
There is an answer, but it involves spoilers.

the second time, but she was already in prison when they kidnapped her as a baby
Robert Hill
Ohh yeah, good point!!
Lee
River was studying archeology when they kidnapped her right?

You know, I kind of wondering how the legal system works in the future. River was already in prison when the silence decided to kidnap her and use her to commit the crime she was imprisoned for. are there some kind of legal causality laws that forbid cops from interfering in crimes that haven't been planned yet? and how exactly did they decide 'when' to arrest her? it would be wrong for them to arrest her before she actually did it, but since the crime happened 3000 years ago, they would have to somehow guess when in her personal timeline she was already guilty. so many questions...

Will you ever be offering your Patreon's early access to episodes?

Great reaction, as always - and congratulations on completing series 6. You are now officially half way through the modern DW era! As to how many seasons each Doctor has, when you think about it Tennant actually had 4 years, not 3. The final year was comprised of the 4 hour long specials (5 if you include the Christmas special The Next Doctor). As for Matt Smith, well Paula will have to wait and see. Incidentally, I'm not sure either of you noticed, but Gantok, the bloke the Doctor was playing live chess against, was played by a heavily made-up Mark Gattis. So looking forward to series 7, culminating in the 50th anniversary special!

It just occured to me seing Kat's hair like that... Kat needs to do a cosplay of Niel Gaimen's the Sandman (Lord Morpheus). lmfao it would look badass.
Colin 3of5
I've never seen "The Daleks Masterplan " . Thank you for the correction, I've now got an a chance to see Nicholas in, to me at least, something new 😀
Brandon Scott
No, no. River dint remember the day on the beach. She didn’t remember the spacesuit coming out of yeh water. When she said she had to pretend not to recognize the spacesuit she said “IN FLORIDA,” remember? The suit came of the water in Utah.
Steven morgan
I know you have your breaks but it would be a shame if you didn’t do the Christmas special now as it is Christmas 😂😂😂
Steven morgan
He appeared with Hartnell in the serial dalek masterplan as Bret vyon that’s what she is referring to

Cool idea but the flesh would have exploded once dead

Another great watch along. This season was a Ride! Hope y'all have a good break and enjoy the festive season!
Tehho
You missed to talk about the Tennant reference with "dont you dare", the same line River says in the library

The Brigadier and the first doctor were both in the 10th anniversary story The 3 Doctors. Although due to his ill health William Hartnells contribution to the story was from a image of him in a chair on the Tardis view screen. I'm not sure if they had any scenes together as the last time I saw this story was in 2013. He also appeared in the Sarah Jane adventures.
John
Yeah, definitely hoping for a Christmas reaction to the Christmas special. That would be fantastic.
Ian Morris
Fingers crossed you put the next review up as it’s a Christmas special and it’s the week before Christmas so it would be fitting :)
Robert Hill
I've always thought it would have been more impactful if instead of the Tesselector robot, it would have been (non-sentient) Flesh, so he could have tricked the Silence like they tricked the Doctor.
John
Another great series of reactions, ladies. The production quality has really improved over the series considering having to do remote viewing was a scramble last Spring. Solid work, ladies, and my compliments to the rest of your production team behind the cameras.

For those long time viewers this was a really touching moment in the episode, and done very well. The Brigadier (Nicholas Courtney) first appeared in 1967 with the 2nd Doctor, and was a recurring character with Doctors 3, 4, 5 and 7. Originally it was meant to be a one off character, but the producers were so impressed with Courtney that they brought him back and made him a fixture of the show. He was the original head of UNIT, and has been referred to a couple of times before in New Who when UNIT'S been involved (The Sontaran Strategem/Poison Sky in series 4, and Planet of the Dead).
Doug C
Thanks for my favorite season, but don’t worry, I’ll stick around for these other great ones. I’m sure you’re taking another break between series, and do what you must, but know you’ll be missed by all the lights in the sky and by none more than me... so hurry back please. (See what I did there? 😁)

Paula and Kat. You are doing a wonderful job. Don't change anything unless you feel the inspiration to do so. Be in the Moment and be true to yourselves. signed A Storyteller and Stage Manager.

Another season/series is over. Thanks very much for your great reactions! I hope that if you do react to more content before series 7, you won't skip accompanying minisodes to series 6, can't recommend them enough (especially 'Night and the Doctor'). Can't wait for Chrismas special and next season reaction :)

I guess it's over, guys. Paula correctly guessed the Series 7 surprise reveal: that the secret to Time Lord regeneration is the drug known as Trenzalore. (May cause drowsiness, megalomania, and the sounds of drums in your head. Time Lord powers are not recommended for humans, as it may cause memory loss. Please consult your Tardis to see if Trenzalore is right for you.)
John
The character's rather lengthy name is Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart. Frequently he was just referred to as the Brigadier. He was a long running character on Classic Who and was a good friend of the Doctor. The way it's mentioned in the episode, it's assumed the viewer will know who he is.
