Everybody lives story :) also i think this is the first time when the doctor "cried when he was happy"
Mr Kitty
Somehow I missed this when it aired? I really enjoyed watching it with you!

I know a lot of people hate this story, but I think it's just so wholesome and sweet. Not the greatest story ever, but a nice and comfy Christmas story that always gives me ALL THE FEELS. <3

And Claire Skinner's real-life husband (at least, at the time) was Charles Palmer, who directed quite a few Doctor Who episodes (Smith and Jones, The Shakespeare Code, Human Nature / The Family of Blood, and a few more Capaldi ones they haven't seen yet). And Charles Palmer is the son of the great Geoffrey Palmer (RIP), who played the captain who crashed the Titanic in 'Voyage of the Damned' (plus he was in the Classic series twice before that). :)

About to check this one out (I'm being timey-wimey and jumping around your reactions) and wanted to shout out Arabella Weir, who plays one of the three 'harvest rangers' and is one of David Tennant's bffs. When he was 24 and first moved to London from Scotland, he lived with her for several years (they'd met when they were in the series 'Takin' Over the Asylum' together back in 1994). He's even the godfather to her kids. :) Oh, and Arabella was also in Big Finish as a female Unbound (alternate universe) Doctor is one story called 'Exile', also with Tennant, back in 2003 (before the new series even had come back). :)

Wonderful reaction ladies, always a pleasure to laugh and cry along with you! Happy Holidays x

I know Paula may not know, but I imagine Kat may do, but Alexander Armstrong who plays Madge's husband is the same guy who voiced Mr Smith in the SJA! Great Xmas reaction gals

I don't think Doctor Who Christmas specials really get better than Moffat + Smith combo. Especially this and the previous one are just sooo beautiful and heartwarming, with 11th Doctor at his best in my opinion. Saw this one way too many times and still got teary eyed several times. Also, regarding the cats and artificial trees - a relative who owns several cats often mentioned that when they had an artificial tree the cats climbed all over it, once they swapped to a real tree they stopped...hope that won't be your case Paula :)

I’m gonna second that. Paula, Kat, you should do a reaction for the first episode of “Black Books”, (maybe while you take a break from DW😏😉). It’s not the best episode, but if you like it, you might decide to pick up from that point once you’re done with Rick and Morty! Oh, I almost forgot. Merry Christmas girls. 🎄

I love the episode! I do think I'll have to watch last series christmas episode - a christmas carol - for a slightly more upbeat christmas story to help me recover lol. Happy Holidays you guys!

"The state you're in right now does not need to be your permanent state." Thank you for that, Paula. I've had a pretty miserable few years, feeling worthless, hating my life. I stopped and cried after that. Hopefully I can turn things around. Love you guys!

There are very few Doctor Who episodes I hate. This is one of them

Family, Paula... They're a very, very lovely family. :')

As fitting for the last episode of the Series, the Gallifrey Gals present... a clip show. :D

Thanks for this, great watch, especially this time of year. So funny when Paula was mock-offended at Claire Skinner's name in the credits. I thought, "just you wait, in less than an hour you will love her" and I was right! :D

Bill Bailey is one of my favorites. You gotta see him in Black Books or his stand-up/one-man shows. He's quite famous in the UK so it's actually a cameo and not a bit part for an upcoming actor.

Good on you getting the artificial tree. I prefer them. I understand the love of live trees, but I grew up with an artificial tree. The same tree used year after year. My entire childhood and all of our Christmas movies and photos are around that same tree. That tree became part of our family tradition. When ours became too worn to use, we took a small part of it and made a small tabletop tree out of it, and then got a new full size artificial tree.

What beautiful timing! I just got off work early for Christmas Eve. And now I get to start my Christmas off with you and the Doctor. Life is good.
