I'm super-behind on things and catching up with your reactions now, but wanted to also point out that this was both Matt and Karen's first story they filmed. I am always amazed at how comfortable Matt feels as the Doctor in this story, especially since it's the first one he did. He just clicked instantly with the character, in my opinion. <3

It's worth noting that way back in Silence in the Library when River is checking her diary to work out where in the Doctor's timeline they are, she says "Have we done the wreck of the Byzantium yet?" Well, here they are in the wreck of the Byzantium. Moffat plays a long game... As for the final scene with Amy, it doesn't bother me that much. Here she is with her raggedy Doctor, who she's been fantasizing about since she was 7, after a near death experience. I agree with Paula in that she's a mess of emotions trying to work out what she wants. I also think it conversely puts to rest any notion that there is going to be any real romantic relationship by having the topic dealt with and rejected by the Doctor - in the same way as Donna's "I'm not mating with you, sunshine!" in Partners in Crime. We can all now move on from it. People who are angry with Amy for it are taking it all too seriously, I think.

Thank you Paula for getting it. Amy was in the moment, she had almost died and she was having wedding jitters plus al that you said, I too don’t blame Amy for trying to seduce the doctor. I could see that Matt is growing on you, when he was snapping at river you didn’t get cross. Glad your loving this season. Matt smiths run is my favourite of nu who.

Agreed, that moment always seemed very rapey to me...it's one of the reasons I never really warmed up to Amy. Not to mention, cheating on your fiance is not a good idea. If Amy wants to sleep with someone else, she should break up with her fiance before attempting it.

For the record some of us (me, it is just me, I have not talked to anyone about any of this, this is all on me, with zero evidence and never having met anyone involved) believe that Paula is harsher to the "ones" she loves, there may be some guilt over moving from "10" so quickly.......I think he imprinted at "still not ginger", but the food was off putting, then he was honest with a child and then he destroyed that child's childhood, so yeah......mixed signals......hahahaha
