This is what i need after a long week of protesting (PDX). Love this two part episode, and especially the episode after this 2parter. Well to be completely honest season 5 hit me hard in the feels for many reasons but i'll save that comment for when we get to the end. Thanks again for the virtual company.

I love Silurians and love this two parter, yeah the cliff hanger is a little naff, not the worse in the history of doctor who. That goes to dragon fire. Got to say your cats have entertained me the last two episodes, my mums cat Randal has an obsession with eating headphone leads so I understand your frustration, his meow sounds like mum. I always tell him he’s not my brother 😂

The Silurian makeup is so beautiful and one of the most incredible makeup designs I've ever seen, especially for television. I also really love how the Doctor interacts with Elliot, who is self-conscious about his dyslexia but the Doctor doesn't see it as an obstacle (emphasizing that some of the brightest minds in the world had the same condition) and immediately gives him a way to help that draws on his strengths.

Paula is correct about the "Amelia Pond" wardrobe choices, but one of the person's involved said the choice was made because Karen Gillian had been in some ways picked on her as a young girl because she is 63.72% legs, so Moffat said early in production that her character "Amelia Pond" would be someone who if anyone pointed out what they conceived as a flaw of her's, Amelia Pond would embrace that part and would throw it in their face, so they went about her clothes style with that in mind. I want to say it was on an episode of "The Graham Norton Show" or one of the ripoffs, that didn't make it, sorry, I will search for it.

Since I'm preeeetty sure you're bingeing these episodes, and therefore have seen the second part, I can say the following: The first time I watched this two-parter, my head-canon for the wave at the beginning of this episode was like Tasha Yar's wave in the episode before she was killed off.

The Silurians are from a 3rd Doctor (John Pertwee) story in the 70s, not a 1st Doctor story. The plot of this story, or more correctly the theme, is very similar to that classic story, except the original had a more military feel, involving UNIT and Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart. I do like the redesign of the Silurians. The makeup and prosthetics are excellent, while also making them more relatable.
