This is true…did you Chekov was not part of the show when space seed was filmed? So they never met till the movie, chekov would have probably read about the incident at the academy or something

I'm fine if they don't skip it, but only if it's not at the cost of anything else. If it's a choice between it and literally any other Trek item, V loses.

Nah, they should watch more TOS episodes first. They've only seen 3! They need more to connect to the characters and to build the characters connection to each other. Besides, they absolutely NEED to watch Space Seed before Trek II. Please note, GGs, all movies I-IV are directly sequential in story! Can't skip any of them. And VI is definitely worf watching. :)

Fun little tidbit about this one: when we first see Vash as Marion and she trips while walking across the room she’s being kept in, that was a blooper but they decided to leave it in because it looked more natural since Vash wouldn’t be used to that attire.

Katrina’s face when Beverly walked in on Picard and Vaush was priceless. Since you mentioned it, I actually like Star Trek V, despite all the hate it gets from a lot of fans. It may not be anywhere near the best of the TOS movies, but it has a lot of redeeming qualities and explores some interesting themes. Definitely don’t skip it if you all eventually watch the films.

Love this episode. That pan with Troi's arrow kills me! Also, if you look in the background of Worf's "merry man" comment, Jordy can't keep a straight face. Can I make a structural recommendation? Usually you have a post/pre-season break. However, there are some...*elements*...in the cross-season two-parter that may leave an unpleasant taste in one's mouth. So as not to taint Katrina's reception of early Season 5 episodes (especially S5E2), maybe consider watching the full two-parter straight away, and then taking your break there, giving time to cleanse the palate before continuing with season 5?

I always figured the part with Crusher and Troi smashing something over the bad guys' heads was less of a sexist idea, and more of them having them do what always happens in those old movies.

Worf smashing Geordi's mandolin was a tribute to a scene in the movie "Animal House" where John Belushi's character smashes some guy's guitar in the same manor and unapologetically says, "Sorry". Picard asked Vash how she got into his quarters and she says she came in through a window. When Picard tries to rescue Vash from the castle he comes in through the window. I never noticed the connection until when I was watching your reactions. I kinda wish they let Troi and Beverly fight instead of pulling a cartoon move of smashing vases over the guards' heads, who had helmets on, yet they still got knocked out.
